Benefit mothers 'will have to work once child is one'

Single parents could be forced to prepare to return to work when their youngest child reaches the age of one under explosive plans to be unveiled today.
A welfare blueprint drawn up for ministers says they should be made to undertake work and skills training, keep their CV up to date and find out about daycare.
Work and Pensions Secretary James Purnell will set the stage for a showdown with Left-wing Labour MPs by accepting the principles of the review.
It concluded that 'virtually no one' should be entitled to claim benefits without taking 'active steps' to get ready for a return to work or actively seek a job.
Gordon Brown wants to get almost a third of the long-term jobless off benefits. The Government has pledged to get a million incapacity benefit claimants and a million older unemployed people into jobs.
But it is the reform of single parent benefits - aiming to get 300,000 out of 776,000 back in paid work within three years - that will prove most controversial among campaign groups and the Labour Left.
The party's MPs staged a mass revolt when Tony Blair tried to add strings to lone parent handouts a decade ago.
Today's report from Professor Paul Gregg, an economist and welfare expert at Bristol University, calls for a massive extension of so-called 'conditionality' in benefits.
A Government source said: 'Gregg's system would mean an end to a 'something for nothing' culture, where people can spend a life on benefits without getting support to find a job in the future.
'It would extend conditionality so that virtually no one can claim benefits without taking active steps to address barriers to work, through regular meetings with personal advisors, agreeing flexible but challenging action plans.
'Although every person is treated differently, there would be sanctions applied to those who refused to take up the support offered.'
The biggest change would be for lone parents and those claiming the new employment support allowance, which has replaced incapacity benefit for new claimants.
Currently, there are few conditions attached to their handouts.
But under today's proposals, single parents and partners of people on benefits with children aged between one and seven would have to take steps to be 'job-ready'.
Those on employment support allowance who could 'feasibly' work in the future would have to do the same.
The source added: 'The Government agrees that this group would benefit from preparing for work and wants debate about what shape this system of conditionality should take.
'A lone mother of a three-year-old won't be made to apply for a job but might agree to find out about available childcare and gain help with building her confidence.
'This will make it easier for her to choose to start looking for and finding a job knowing her children will be well looked after.
'A person with back pain might not be ready to start work straight away but regular contact with an advisor and the input of a medical assessor might help them focus on jobs they might be able to do.'
Under existing plans, from 2010 single parents will have to actively seek work once their youngest child reaches seven. This will affect 40 per cent of single parents.
Britain's employment rate for lone parents is 56.5 per cent, the lowest in Europe. In Denmark, 80 per cent of single parents work.

This isn't about creating jobs.
This is about taking away people's time.
The grey men are on the march.
The one area in which we are all equal is that we have 24 hours every day.
Big Brother doesn't like that. The elite don't like that.
If you have time on your hands you might start thinking, dreaming, philosophizing. You might be enjoying yourself.
These are all very suspicious activities to the fascist controllers.
They want everybody where they can see them.
They want everybody where they can be controlled, indoctrinated, moulded into model citizens.
"They" can f*** off!

its a bad trick !
its all a con by those pedos and child mind rapists who want our children by any and all costs .
i see them as a threat to my child so like you i say they can f---k off !

also , the phsycology of this goes a far more way than we can 1st realise .
imagine this .
if a child is away from their parents all the time from 1 years old , they would grow up in the system , indoctrinated by the system and also , would do everything the system tells them too and also they would grow numb to having their own minds and opinions etc this way children become true system robots with no available way in their mind to relate to the fact that they have their own mind if they want it .
a child who spends all their time in the system will become the system , and they know it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
becarefull of these law makers .
they are bad wicked child preditors , and will do everything they can to take away a childs ability if being self aware , self confidence , and free will , and what more of a perfet way than to lawfully abduct children when they are one year old ?
these people who make these laws must never be trusted !

Does anyone have any spare land where I can pitch a tent? This may sound as if Im joking but Im not, I am seriously considering the complate opting out of society, me, kids and dog.
I would rather get together with others and be part of a community but we need LAND and for LAND you need MONEY. I dont have any but Im more than willing to grind my fingers to the bone tilling the land, building living accommodation, growing food, ANYTHING (well, almost....)
Why do we sit and wait until things get much worse before we take any action? This all creeps up on us so slyly, we dont know whats hit us til we are laid out cold on the floor

ive concidered this before too but the fact is this .
even if we were a berdon on society , we do not have the right to be let free from it .
could you imagine this next situation ?
imagine ( say me for instance ) was such a berdon on society , needed state benifits ( which im getting at the mo whilst on the sick ) needed drugs ( like i do now ) needed phsyciatric help ( erm ? probably ) couldnt make thing work etc etc etc etc etc , and was always in debt .
now imagine this .
one day i make an appeal to the house of lords .
my case is that i cannot get on with the system of those who make it and those who live in it etc etc etc . my plea to be free from it would be the case . do you think they would let me go ?
of course not ! they wont let me go because i am a money making idea for them . if they can act as an over lord who cares for me , then others have to pay taxes for that idea , thats why they will not let people go .
none the less i say this .
phareoh let my people f+++ing go !

Its actually very good news, all these absurd little laws are an indication that their grip is slipping. They are shit scared that they will have to take a pay cut or get up off their lazy asses and do a days work for a change.
I laugh at news like this, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to see how desperate they are.

These are the same thoughts going through my mind and heart and getting stronger by the day. I'm not joking either, I don't have any land, but have contemplated opting of of society and the system. I know we would thrive and do well. We could be a lot more prosperous than we are now. The ugliness we are staying in now will hold us down, I feel nervous when I hear the postman put a letter through the door. We would have to get together en masse to overcome barriers.

Agreed. We should do what the escaped slaves did in the Carribean, get together and form alternatrive independant communities. They called them "maroons". Who's in?
What I read on this thread fits like a jigsaw with Brian Gerrish's interview and lecture.

Good on ya!:) The more the better because we're more likely to posess the essential skills to build a society: nursing/healing, enginering, building, farming, hunting and rough survival. But also art, literature, dance and music are essential skills too; they are usually overlooked or at best seen as secondary by Conformist Illuminati society.

Yes, these words resonate in my heart too. They CAN f*** off. I can see the picture fit like a jigsaw: the Brian Gerrish interview (about social services and Common Purpose, the kidnapping of children by the state); Orwell's 1984 book (the state took children in that); and yesterday, a friend of mine told me that social services want to assess her little boy because they were concerned he couldn't hold a pen properly. Another friend nearly had his kid taken away from him because she had toileting difficulty. And the single mother jobs thing, they gave all these benefits thus creating a state of dependency and then take them away, and create this scenario using tricks like this, like fishing rod in then out tactics.

problem is ?????????????
no one has the guts or determination to do so .
im sure many of us would like to do this but who is doing the research on how we could acomplish this ?
i for one would join but we need meetings on it .
talks about what could or could not be tolerated etc .
how people would be vetted and what constitutes bans etc .
its a big thing , but count me in , i for one would adapt and / or drop any predetermined stuff concerning my actions/ beleifs if i knew it could work .
i would adapt to fit in / of course if i thought it was for me etc .
its a big subject but this subject ( now away from the threads subject ) needs a talk etc from us .

The elite don't want anyone to be happy. They would not really want anyone to be happy in their job and doing something they love. People are encouraged by guilt to do something robotic. Creativity is discouraged. They'd tell you to get a 'proper' job and not give you any help with your own suggestions to fulfil your dreams. Simple jobs have been made more stressful and complicated. Working in a shop runs the risk of getting a huge fine/prosecution if you mistakenly serve some underage with alcohol, now they've added matches and glue. I went into a kiosk that sold sweets newspapers sandwiches and general stuff, for a plaster, and it was against health & safety law for them to sell plasters. Teachers are always stressed nowadays as they are assessed nearly all the time. Everywhere there is more paperwork admin threats and laws. If you have time on your hands to think you stumble upon the truth, they don't want that

very true indeed .
this iswhy they create a lot of laws etc about self employment . so that you are constantly focusing on the system etc .
i also concer about the remark about that they dont want others to have jobs they enjoy , i should know , they made my life hell when i went to college .
they tried every trick in the book . listen to this .
when i was unemployed as a young man i was always in and out of work . for 4 years i was in and out of work . after one year being unemployed ( to whi9ch they never ever bothered about me ) i took a college course . within 4 weeks they found me a job . i accidently made the interview fail ( deary deary me ) but then one day , 2 months before my exams , they found me an employer who wanted me to work for him despite the fact i swor in the interview , called it a shit job and accidently told him the place stinks of loosers ( wonder why ) but he still told the dss that he wanted me so i turned him down coz i was 2 months away from my city and guilds and being a good electricians mate etc , so i turned him down and pleaded with the dss to find me an electrical trainies job and they blatently refused , so i refused the job and the dss took my money for 6 months .
if i didnt know how to servive in a "no fixed abode" way i would have totally lost it all .
yes ! they play tricks on ya and i sware blind that employer must have had connections to the dss at the time .
yes they play tricks on ya . the thing that bothered me was that there were other people who i knew damned well were unemployed for over 3 years and they didnt bother with them , but soon found a way to keep me from being happy in a job i loved .
well ????????????????????????????????????????????
they failed to stop me !

Just with regard to the OP:
I own a private nursery with my partner. It has space for 65 children from 3 months to 5 years had has about 70 children on register. Our nursery is a welcoming, comforting and nurturing environment which provides care and age appropriate education for children while their parents are at work or in education. The staff I employ are exceptional, work extremely hard and all adore and value the children they care for; I wouldn't have them working for me otherwise. We are not 'the system' and neither do we 'condition' the children as some members have implied. Whilst some parents who don't work and stay at home with their children do share proactive experiences with their children which promote their holistic development, many, and in my experience, the great majority, do not. Quality childcare fills this fissure and many, many children benefit from a nursery environment. The children can choose to play inside or outside with many resources and equipment including a brand new garden area which costs over 20 grand to refurbish, read, have quiet time, have a nap, eat snacks, go on walks, look after a rabbit..they have a dance teacher visit, someone who practices yoga with them and two professional footballers who play ball games with them once a week, they visit (age allowing) airports, the zoo, farms, parks, shops, fire and police stations and other places which help to reinforce society to them..these are experiences which many children do not recieve unless they attend a nursery and can be invaluable to their development.

Thanks Zarah but you are missing the point here, there are still mums out there who would prefer to spend time with their kids and bring them up themselves, mine are now at school age and when they were younger, I went with them to playgroups.
you seem to forget the absence of jobs during school holidays when they should be home or out playing with friends. Not everyone has freinds or family to take care of them during those times

Hi. I think its bad over here in the states and I hear what the government is doing over in England. Wow-I'm sorry.
Hey, that is a good idea about building separate communities. As matter of fact I am part of a group of friends who are working towards that very thing. We decided to give up the rat race and find a place and try and live off the grid and become self-sufficient. We have a money pot going now to get some land. If you can think it up-its possible. I have included a couple of links. I don't know how helpful they are because I think some of the communities are urban oriented but maybe there will be some helpful resources. Perhaps as people get serious we can continue to share resources on this subject.
