hey man, here's my advice, you're going to live with this for a long time, think about it carefully, meditate on it, it's a personal thing, it'll come to you.

I personally wouldn't get the pentacle/pentagram or any tattoo. I grew up with tattoo'd friends as I was involved in the punk and metal scenes, for ages I wanted a tatt and now I am glad I didn't get one. A symbol may mean something to you now but in the future you may feel it isn't representative of you any longer or you may discover a meaning it has that you didn't know about when you got it.

The human body is already covered in patterns.

May I ask why you wish to permanently mark yourself? You can't be more individual than what you already are.

Here's some sites about the pentacle/pentagram, it seems to be used by a lot of religions and organisations:

My advice: don't get any tattoos or piercings. Something that seems a good idea now will most likely have lost it's appeal by the time you're 40. Or before. I have two large tattoos on my arms, both from my Pagan days. One is Pan, the Greek God and the other is a Celtic band depicting animals. I'd do anything to get rid of them. I had them done when I was 18 or 19 and I'm now 33.

I have a small tattoo like a "ring" around my finger, which I'm still comfortable with. It's purely decorative, with no "meaning" attached to it and can be easily hidden by wearing a ring on top of it. Other than that, today's tattoos and piercings are tomorrow's scars. Don't do it.

I thought about getting tattoos a lot over the years. My friends had them and I used to hang out at a tattoo parlor and go to conventions. There was actually pressure on me to get a tattoo. I'm glad I didn't. Something I might have wanted fifteen years ago I wouldn't want now. Presumably the same will be true fifteen years in the future.

General advice on tattoos if you do decide to get one:

Larger tattoos look better. The bigger and more unified the design, the more striking it will appear from a distance. People won't have to ask what your tat is all the time.

Black ink without shading lasts best. Bold lines will not fade as much over time compared to shaded images such as portraits. Color fades faster than black.

Choose a design that flows with your body and enhances your natural beauty. You have the most valuable canvas in the world, so don't skimp on creating the absolute best design for you.

why would you want to mark your body with anything permanent??

as far as i know -- tattooing started to mark the ownership of the slaves..
why the fuck a spiritual being would need tattoos or body pins is beyond me?!

i think that tattoos are more than plain stupid and that they very often represent the sign of ownership.
all of the symbols have magic powers and if they are used for evil intent -- guess what?
you would be giving your spiritual energy to some entity via your own mark.
read Matt Delooze thread.

i just know that there is an agenda for people to defile their bodies in any possible way, be it tattoos, body piercing or branding, even mutilation. They even have TV shows on MSM.
Do you ever wonder WHY would there be such show?

you can see how those things are pushed in all MSM.

now, who, what force would benefit from that?

what could tattooing some entity do to your soul or your spiritual energy?

are tattoos maybe representing mark of the beast or are the just precursors to it?

now, could the tattooing be just conditioning part for
what is to come? you decide:

An e-commerce barcode 'tattoo' Scanned image verifies buyer to seller WorldNetDaily.com reports.
A patent has been issued for a technique enabling an invisible tattoo to be placed under the skin of a consumer purchasing goods and services online, according to a report published by computer giant Compaq. (digital.com)

The patented procedure, titled, “Method For Verifying Human Identity During Electronic Sale Transactions,” was developed by Houston inventor Thomas W. Heeter. His patent -- bearing U.S. Patent No. 5,878,155 and granted in March, 1999 -- “describes how people can be identified for eCommerce transactions by invisible barcodes tattooed on their skin.” The patent identifies invisible tattoo ink that is currently available commercially, according to the Compaq report.

Pretty sure people have been getting tattoos since prehistoric times. Remember the Iceman they found in the Alps who was frozen for thousands of years? He had tattoos, if I remember correctly. It didn't begin with marking slaves. I imagine they can confer spiritual power and things like that if you know what you are doing. Most people probably don't really know, though, so best to proceed with extreme care.

It's the most stupid Idea I have seen all day if that is anything to go by. Especially an occult symbol, that's really asking for trouble.

Tattoo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"History
Main article: History of tattooing
Tattooing has been around for thousands of years and has a direct link to culture and symbolism of each culture. Tattooing has been a Eurasian practice at least since Neolithic times. Mummies bearing tattoos and dating from the end of the second millennium BC have been discovered at Pazyryk on the Ukok Plateau. Tattooing in Japan is thought to go back to the Paleolithic era, some ten thousand years ago. Various other cultures have had their own tattoo traditions, ranging from rubbing cuts and other wounds with ashes, to hand-pricking the skin to insert dyes."

Neo, if you really want it, that is your decision. Just be sure that you are getting it for the right reasons and think about the design.

I have not been tattooed but have no problems with anyone who does.

Here is a good design site with meanings, origins etc OR you could make your own design and find an artist who does freehand ;)

I have no problems with tattoos, in fact I have 2 myself, a simple yellow and black smiley face on my upper right arm and a simple black and white yin yang symbol on my upper left arm. I got them about 12 years ago and see no reason to regret having them.

One thing I will say though is that I wouldn't pick a design from the pictures they have, I drew my own and the artist copied my drawings, that way I know that I've got exactly what I wanted. :)

If you have not found a design that resonates with you, you should wait.

A tattoo is really forever, and your approach to it should not be one of wanting a tattoo for the sake of having one, and then "looking" for something that you like at THAT moment in time.

Wait until something comes along that you absolutely cannot live without, and then do it.

I think a Pentagram is probably the MOST misunderstood symbol.

Because of the mass ignorance about it, you don't want to find some ignorant prick putting a baseball bat to your head for it, right? So, keeping yourself safe is more important than anything else at this very crucial time.

Think carefully, will ya?

Exactly, don't get a tattoo just for the sake of getting a tattoo. I got mine because the symbols (see my previous post) meant a lot to me.

Thanks for the advice folks, all taken on board.
I already have a couple of tattoos, only tribal nothing
sinister,so having anothers not a problem just wondering
peoples thoughts on the pentagram. My conclusion that
one way or the other the pentacle will have evil intent
wether i'm looking down at it or some one's looking at me(if that makes sense)
After much deliberation I've decided on a native american
in full head dress drawn only with black ink in memory of those
who were wiped out and country stole, and an african tribe warrior shield
for my african heritage and also paying tribute to the millions of slaves that were slaughtered in the building of that empire(s) and not a pentacle
in sight.
Slaves and Native Americans the 2 peoples you can guarentee no
part in the nwo,so i consider their symbols clean.

hi neo- my advice is - design something yourself!

when i wanted a tattoo i wanted something that no-one else would have and also something that had meaning to me personally- since you gotta live with it for the rest of your life!! i narrowed it down to a cat- as they are a big part of my life, and since i have an artistic flare i decided to draw my tattoo myself onto a piece of paper and gave it to the tattooist who scanned it and sized it down!

now i have my own design that no-one else has and that was 9 yrs ago and ive never regretted it ...so far!!

also have it in a position that can be hidden if you want to or displayed if you want to - thats what i did- so i can cover it up for situations where its not appropriate to show tattoos! (that was mainly as i was going to do nursing- and didnt think it would look good displaying it to patients!!):)

hope this helps- its your body- do as you please with it- its only a shell!!:D

:( Think twice before doing this _neo_
I know I will regret somethime.
I have 3 ,A tribal with flames around my arm and a spider on my chest, but the one that i don't think is the smartest move i have done till now is the cannabis plant on my back with the text ''don't panic - it's organic' :)
I'm pretty sure I have to do a cover-up on that one...
