a hyper cube explained and ilestrated in 2d form as a 3d picture is not 4th dimensional , there fore , a 4 d hyper cube can never be fully explained or ilestrated on paper or in 3d space .

No we cannot actually see the fourth dimension with our eyes Tracker, but those pictures are useful in helping us comprehend them in the intellectual sense. I can say that meditating on the tesseract is really amazing, I had a full on lucid dream after doing it.

My (unscientific) understanding of dimensions:

Our world is 3D, because we can go sideways, back and forth (1st), up and down (2nd) and then there's time (3rd). Games like Super Mario Bros are 2D, because there is really only one direction, no depth, and there's time, the 2nd dimension.

I've heard that time is supposed to be 4th dimension, but if that is so what are the three dimensions we live in?

you have your x axis which is a horizontal line think of horizon, the you have you y axis which is a vertical line this is 2D like a map, you z axis is 3D so depth or space an object takes up.

Time is called the fourth dimension because Einstein's special relativity is basically the Pythagorean theorem extended into 4 dimensions, with time converted into a spatial dimension by multiplying it by the speed of light (a time unit multiplied by speed unit results in a length unit).
