I have read Nick Popes book "Open Skies Closed Minds" and have no reason to doubt his openness to the reasons Why these files are now being released.The big picture could be two folded as to the sudden release of these files.

1.An act by the powers at be to be seen as "look we have nothing to hide" but at the same time keeping the reports, video and picture evidence that would prove beyond all doubt that UFOs are visiting earth and not only are they ET but we have made contact and have done so for a long time.

2.An EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME by the powers at be to slowly get the public acustomised to a full disclosure of open contact/testing the reaction of the public to see if the time is right for a full disclosure of open contact.

Yes I can agree that there are forces somewhere deeper(where we can't point our fingers yet), but on ground level this brings huge conflict of interests and they all have to do with religion, money, consciousness and ultimately power over everything.

And the best thing is, those who seem or are portrayed as "evil" might actually not be evil, it's like the saying goes:

Not everyone who drops shit on you is your enemy. Not everyone who pulls you out of shit is your friend. And when you're warm and happy in your pile of shit, keep your mouth shut!

Conscious self criticism is the next best thing in town ;)
