There are 78 cards in Tarot divided in Major and Minor cards.
22 Major trump arcana and 56 minor arcana. The 27 card does,nt exist in a follow on from Major trump as such as it ends with the world card at 21 and fool is known as zero even though it is included in the Major.

I dont consider which suits run after each other - who can say cups should be first, or swords, wands or pentacles? - personally I do not think of the scientifics of the pack. I use whatever makes me feel right for the question in hand. The tarot decides for itself how it wishes to be played out for each question - The Major and Minor are two seperate packs of cards that make one pack. One is dealing with strong core issues and that is the major whereas the minor pack are the trivia/detail which can bring extra information to any of the major pack that is dealt.

I generally do a one card reading for this thread Meditating on the question and answering upon the turn of the card that tarot gives

This is a basic meaning of this card though Debbie. You have to look at the card in respect of not only the pictorial evidence you also have to have a connection with it in context of the question.

This lady in this card is sitting in a throne with cup . Cups are emotion and Liquid. This cup can reflect alchohol/drinking/depression as well as dreaminess. This card has numerical values and planets attached to it as well as hebrew context and other small details which can be of great significance in the reading. Therefore it is not just the basic meaning that comes into play but the entire significance of the card in respect to the question as different elements of this card have to be taken into consideration. That is something that everyone should remember when reading cards. There is READING cards and there is divination with cards, two different things altogether. Again as with the reply I gave about the queen of cups, this card has numerical attributes, planets dates timings and other cards naturally linked to it all have to be taken into consideration. This card has pictorial evidence on it also which can imply many different things and its counterproductive attributes when reversed. It is very important when reading cards to get past the basic meanings and to attempt to take into consideration all the aspects in order to divine the question to which has been asked. However it is a very good way of learning cards as the basic meaning can be a first level understanding to learning the language of the tarot.;)

Hello Empathy. I hope you are still occaisionally checking this thread. I have had my Tarot read twice (9 card readings), and both times I drew the same core card, in the same position. The card was the Chariot, inverted, which was explained to me to mean vast amounts of misdirected, or undirected energy. My question is, in your understanding of Tarot, is the interpretation of that card accurate, and what is this energy inside me that manisfests itself outside of my control (or even, how can I come about to control it)?

I understand this may be too much to ask, too unspecific, but thank you for offering your ability to we who would ask.


A reversed chariot can mean running out of steam. It can also mean something as simple as a CAR or VEHICLE that has broken down or isnt going anywhere..:D On a very simple level I would need to apply the card to a specific question as each question would draw the card that answers it .
Therefore it depends on what the question was that you asked for the position of your card.

Chariots when upright can be all about a might effort that has to be made and often a victory is involved in that, it can represent searching too conquering the odds . It can represent going to the ends of the earth to achieve something, turning over everything in its wake with speed to do so - rushing ahead and putting everything into something...these are just simple thoughts regarding this card, but when you reverse that and depending on the question you would still consider the upright card but to a lesser degree.

Say for example you were searching for something...then inverted might suggest that you needed to put more effort in - that you could do more for example. This card is a driving force - therefore, without that drive it shows someone who might be floundering without the necessary push to go in the direction they need to get.
(hence how transport problems can be identified sometimes )

So inverted it can mean runs out of energy, or wastes resources/talents - lack of real direction - or if it were a health matter/question could mean someone with health problems. So it does matter what question you ask as meanings of cards depend upon them.

Your question might be that you sometimes do not know how to control your deepest feelings - perhaps you are searching for answers and not able to manifest them - perhaps it could be that you need to concentrate a little more fully without outside influences to disturb your mind. This card may be telling you about self control - that you must develop this in order to go in directions that you aim for.

Here we have the 10 of wands mountain. If you look at this card the right way up it shows you struggling forward on your own with many burdens and many things on your mind - it is a card of oppression that kind of makes life hard and difficult. As you can see this card comes to you reversed in answer to your question. Therefore I would suggest that the person that comes to you in your life that you asked about has lightened the load and eased your burdens and may very well be someone you can share everything with including all the things that ever weighed you down. So is that an affirmative? Yes it looks good to me.

Hello Eagle - a very curious answer to a curious question.

Well this card shows the four of pentacles and on that card you can see a man who is hugging his possessions to him because what he has and what he owns is very important to him.

His identity is important and his security is important and he does,nt want to relinquish them in any way. As you can see he has his back to the town behind him therefore he has turned his back on a place that he knows but he is making sure that he has everything with him that he needs.

The strange thing about this card is, that although this trip is coming up you are a little bit apprehensive about it but in a funny kind of way. Its almost like you want to go but you are not sure about going at the same time - do you feel that your house wont be safe if you do go? I see you making sure that most of your valuables are carefully out of sight here.

Could it be that you are going in search of someone because this card covets people and possessions - it is a slightly suspicious cloud too, meaning that you are seeking something you are not really sure you should be seeking so there is a part of you that seems to hold back.

There is a kind of financial aspect to this card being pentacles and I do think you may be seeking some kind of financial stability, but also I see there might be a message from a lady coming to you?

There is development money and trade within this card but you must guard against money loss so if you are investing in anything make sure you do good with those investments whether for health, personal or financial reasons.

You may find what you are looking for but I have a feeling you hold back a little but thats for reasons of your own.

You see, every thing with what you "tell fortune" to people, would it be tarot, runes, cards, coffee, what ever, it obeys somekind of system, but systems allows these who rules the world. So basically the answer what will you get is the answer what system wants to give you.

I've done some experiments with cards. Its like, we we tried to create a system where cards are being controlled, and it worked, 9 times out of 10. One said what card comes out, and it was wanted card
But when we wanted to look through cards, it worked only 1 or 2 times on one created system how to see through, before original system took control over, and then there wasnt anymore possible to predict witch card it is.
That means that system controls the cards and system is created by the bad boys,

Hello All, Im always apologising for not getting back here. As you know I work with missing children and have offered a free tarot thread here. I cannot take any more free questions now and am referring everyone to my blogger which is in my signature below. Free questions have also been locked on my own forum.

The reason I have had to do this is because I am now spending more of my day working with the tarot which is very important regarding the Missing. A lot of the cases have had quite a good degree of accuracy which you may check on the blogger and I think I need to continue to spend more time with it to help wherever possible.

I will still be doing personal readings at a very small donation on the blogger if you do wish to consult the tarot. I will always explore every avenue for you on personal readings - if you ask me a questions then I answer them to the best of my ability. You can get that reading on the Blogger.
For those that have left questions BEFORE this post I am writing now, then I will of course complete the tarot free for you as this is only fair.

Lady Pagan, I do have to respond to your post. I understand what you are saying in your post but I have to tell you that messages come from spirit through tarot on many occasions. Spiritual work is not from the bad guys it is from the departed who are close to me or good work with the tarot itself.

I think there are very dark arts out there and we all know what they are and how to avoid them. I can truly tell you I do not practise anything in those areas - even though it is true that tarot is a black art in some descriptions.

We have a duty in life to do good or to do bad. That our life is a choice. My choice is to give back to other people and to help people - whether that is considered a black art or not I dont particularly care. What I know is that when people are worried about their families, or when there is someone with illness who wishes to know if they will get better, whether there are children out there dying at the hands of some monster, that tarot helps me to try to locate them so they can have proper burials and so their families do not grieve forever for a lost child. Also for all those people who have been depressed and desperate, I could not ignore them if I tried.

We are given a purpose in our lives - I am not a martyr by a long chalk, but what I have tried to do is help people. Evil people DONT help people they help themselves - and they coerce people wrongly. Tarot is not in the wrong hands when it is in mine - and though I dont belong to any church nor do I believe in going to church I know I have worked from my heart and until recent times freely.

I have never charged anybody for an enquiry for a missing child and never will. Until recently, I have never asked for a small donation to my work either. However, most of the hours of my day are now dedicated to helping people and god helps those who help others. Therefore when there have been donations recently for independent personal readings I have accepted them because they have allowed me to continue my work for people who matter.

The world stinks right now - there are hundreds of people out there who are falling over themselves with worry, debt, illness and other debillitating problems, I am never going to ignore them because I was made to try to help them. This is what I do because I love people and I care about them.

Tarot does give answers which when combined with insight is often very revealing. I dont explain that but I trust that the right messages will come because I know I genuinely want to help people. Maybe it does,nt work for sceptical people I dont know, but having sceptical people is healthy because it keeps a balance and life is all about balance at least it should be.

I should add that tarot is not fortune reading - it is GUIDANCE reading. Fortune reading is found at funfairs and quite different altogether. Even tarot readings can allow a person choice - and that choice rests with the reader.

Its the nine of Pentacles. Its a lovely card too . Its all about gain and benefit on the surface of things so you know it might bring an income. When you look at this card, you see a woman in her garden and she is very self sufficient, she created all that work herself and she is proud of everything she has done. On her arm is her falcon which shows that she wishes to take flight, but the falcon is likely linked to a pad on her arm and he cant go anywhere so that comes to your question and how you have been feeling.

This card is about finance, and making self attainment. A nine is also a completion of work which also links to your question. There are two ways that this card strikes me, abundance and good fortune and plentifulness, do you really need to do anything? is there any reason why you cant just do what you like and enjoy all that you have and all that you have worked for? and turn your attention to something creative that you enjoy doing. You are creative - look at the gown this woman is wearing, it is,nt plain it stylised and interesting with a lovely pattern - so you have grace and style and likely creative pursuits that you could be turning your hand too. The other thing about this lady in this card is that she has plenty to gain, so she is NOT going to lose out at all. In fact, her home could be an important part of this card too, the design and the way in which it is put together. I would pick home interiors or making clothes for someone like this as a pursuit -

Turn your attention to the creative and dont be afraid to do what you want to do - because now is the time to take your life and say, you have earned your next move. CREATIVITY and self reliance is the way forward for you, I dont think you will end up poor, I think you will do very nicely.

Well you may not like this simple answer but tarot gives what it wants to give. This card is WORRY. You WORRY too much about too many things and you must try to relax a little more. Do you know that when we search for something it will come to us if that is how it is to be? Some people strive all there life for meanings or materialisms only to spend their life doing this when their time can be oh much better occupied in other areas. Now that is not meant to be rude because I know you need some help. The man in the picture shows an injury, with you it is a lot of things that you worry over in your mind and as this man carries a bell to spread a message, you do the same in your own way.

What this card tells you is this. What you wish for and search for is CLOSE BY to you. Yes, right next door to you, see that light in the window on the building in the card? That is how close, so not far really at all. But instead of rushing around and worrying you cannot see the answer - the answer is in front of you just slow down a little and dont forget to ask for help, its right there waiting.

This is the King who is minding all his assets, hes hanging on to eveything he owns, everything he has worked for everything that belongs to him, he doesnt trust anyone and eyes everyone with suspicion. In fact, he is,nt going to mix with anyone in that town behind them, after all, he does,nt know them, they might steal his things, how can he trust anybody to look after his things?

The message? Learn to let go. Life is a beautiful light passage and we are balls of moss that pick up things as we go along - attach ourselves to things and think that everything material is important, it is,nt though.

See this card? see the person on this card struggling to get that bundle of sticks to the village? They are really taking on a huge burden here and feel far too much oppression in doing it.

What I am going to suggest to you is that within 10 weeks you may find a job but you might pick one that is too much for you to handle, or one you think is ok but think oh god, I wish I did,nt bother with this. So there is a likelihood that you may get a job but then be back to square one because you dont have the energy or the committment in your mind to continue with that particular work. But dont worry, hey, we have all been there.

The important thing for you is to get a job your INTERESTED in, because I think you get bored quickly, you need to be interested in all the details of the job and not end up with one where people lump loads of responsibility on you and find that you just cant keep up with it or that it just overburdens you. So forget the pay as long as you can get by and get a job that you know will hold your interest because you need definate stimulation. Your an action person who likes to really doing this and doing that, anything boring and oh boy, your out the door. So all you need to do is pick wisely, if the pay is,nt great but you like the job thats the job to have, dont pick a high pay and a job that will drive you nuts in a fortnight.

I think you will be alright, I can see a real zappy little character in you so dont worry, you will be ok, but you must take a hint about the type of work you pick or you could end up back on your botty again;)

Lady Pagan, I do have to respond to your post. I understand what you are saying in your post but I have to tell you that messages come from spirit through tarot on many occasions. Spiritual work is not from the bad guys it is from the departed who are close to me or good work with the tarot itself.
How long have you studied about facts behind tarot? How tarot really works? And, as well I would like to ask what kind of spirit you talking about?
I must tell you that at the moment most powerful spiritual creatures in this world are evil and I mean really evil.

I think there are very dark arts out there and we all know what they are and how to avoid them. I can truly tell you I do not practise anything in those areas - even though it is true that tarot is a black art in some descriptions. We have a duty in life to do good or to do bad.
I wondering how you depart things into good and bad? Everytime you do something good you same time together with good deed do something bad. Most people just denies the fact.

We are given a purpose in our lives - I am not a martyr by a long chalk, but what I have tried to do is help people. Evil people DONT help people they help themselves - and they coerce people wrongly. Tarot is not in the wrong hands when it is in mine - and though I dont belong to any church nor do I believe in going to church I know I have worked from my heart and until recent times freely.

God bless is just something my nan used to say - and Im just like her so its habit and my way of sending a wish to a person.

Tarot is GUIDANCE Lady Pagan, its like going to a counsellor - theres nothing illuminati in what I do - I dont believe in church because its just a house made of bricks, god is in my heart and thats his permanent home. God to me is,nt god as in some peoples eyes, my referrals to god is about the light of good that shines in a person. Its more of a spiritual aspect.

Its the nine of Pentacles. Its a lovely card too . Its all about gain and benefit on the surface of things so you know it might bring an income. When you look at this card, you see a woman in her garden and she is very self sufficient, she created all that work herself and she is proud of everything she has done. On her arm is her falcon which shows that she wishes to take flight, but the falcon is likely linked to a pad on her arm and he cant go anywhere so that comes to your question and how you have been feeling.

This card is about finance, and making self attainment. A nine is also a completion of work which also links to your question. There are two ways that this card strikes me, abundance and good fortune and plentifulness, do you really need to do anything? is there any reason why you cant just do what you like and enjoy all that you have and all that you have worked for? and turn your attention to something creative that you enjoy doing. You are creative - look at the gown this woman is wearing, it is,nt plain it stylised and interesting with a lovely pattern - so you have grace and style and likely creative pursuits that you could be turning your hand too. The other thing about this lady in this card is that she has plenty to gain, so she is NOT going to lose out at all. In fact, her home could be an important part of this card too, the design and the way in which it is put together. I would pick home interiors or making clothes for someone like this as a pursuit -

Its a funny old thing when people see the Devil card or even the Death card, it makes them run a mile, but the very interesting thing is that neither of these cards are actually BAD.

Thats right. In fact, the Devil card is very lusty and passsionate and ..dare I say it...downright steamy when it wants to be, all depending on what the question is and of course if its in a spread how it appears within that.

The Devil card can show someone chained to a situation that they cant get out of , sort of ADDICTED TO LOVE even or attached to something that really they could get out of if they wanted to but thats all down to choice, will they break free or will they endure because of the benefits of being chained like that in a lustful fashion...ummmm
