An easy way to research the age of the earth is this; Calculate the world population growth rate going backwards from this point, tracing it as far back as you can. (Use common percentages averaging the past 250 years) This will inevitably show that the population of mankind was at virtually 0 nearly 4000 years ago.

What happened 4000 years ago? The Flood.

Once you have done this, calculate the Geneology as it is recorded in the Old Testament. (Known as the 'Begats') From the time of Noah to Adam, the years recorded are roughly 2000 ... these are records you can rely on.

Don't be fooled by evolutionary thinking ... it is flawed and clearly unreliable.

The percentage idea won't work. It assumes a straight line relationship.

Did man appear on day 1? If not how does your suggestion work?

Lol, as soon as you use anything that resemble 'records' you are prone to its falsities and human errors.

Also, before records began, there were no records (duh) :o

Just like I said before: How do you explain that there were civilisations flourishing during and after the flood?
How will you explain old structures beneath sea level, that date back far before 4000bc?

The Egyptians historic records pre-date the Bible, there is no mention of a Universal Flood.
