Good one.

I saw an orange ufo the other night, it had a flicker to it. No typical flashing lights indicating helicopter or plane but a really obvious flicker. I would say it was travelling a little faster than your average helicopter but made no noise. Most odd.

Moving or stationary?

In formation or random?

Any discernible shape or solidity to the objects beyond the light?

HI: i am wondering why you were left shaking? Were you scared of them for some reason. Also did you notice the time you saw them, & the time when you came back into your home? Just wondering how much time lapsed from seeing them to going back inside? Ok...I just re-checked your original post....says 1:08am when you saw them and for about 10mins. That answers my first question. So do you remember what time you went back inside?

Do you have any links to good examples of lantern vids - not something ive heard of. From what i imagine, it could be something similar to what I saw except it was moving faster.

What kind of speed were they travelling at. Did the formation break up at speed at acute angles or anything that would set them apart from jets in formation or copters?

lol @ Homer.

Not questioning your story, by the way, but it's a question that needs to be asked with any sighting.

EDIT: Though I'd lay off the Foster's. You do know that we Australians refuse to even touch that cat's piss, right? :p

Ok tks....I was thinking along the lines of maybe an abduction of yourself, if you have had some missing time, thats all, & your response of fear. No worries.

About 10 years ago or so, I was walking home after work.
It was around 2:40am and I was nearing my street, the city was very quiet I was living in Bristol UK, it was summertime. Something in my mind told me to turn around and I did so. There on the horizon, streaking accross the sky in a straight horizontal line was an orange ball of light. Now I had been researching UFO stuff for a while and I immediately said to myself 'That's a U.F.' Before I could finish this is what happened.
The small orange ball vanished from the horizon and at the same moment, all sounds, the wind, the normal drone of the city vanished in to silence. I slowly looked up and 50 feet above me was a craft. It was shaped like a 50 pence piece, except for the front of it was more pointed. It was metal, it looked heavy as hell. But it made absolutely no sound. I started shouting like a loon, 'Hey, pick me up, wait.' (I know silly but I was freaking out) The thing is, no sound was coming out of my mouth, I couldn't hear my own voice.
It was really freaky.
So, the craft continues in a very slow crawl (like 2 miles an hour) moving above the rooftops of the houses. I lose sight of it and the sound comes crashing back like a wave. The next street is on a hill, so I have to climb stairs, so I gallop up them as fast as a smoker can and search the sky, nothing to be seen.
Ok so the story goes on.
I get home, I am sharing a house with some really cool folks, researchers, healers etc.
The day before this happened, a girl arrived to stay. She was a friend of one of the guys in the house. Beautiful girl, quiet, nice.
So anyway, I go home, everyone is sleeping so I freak out alone for an hour then go to bed. I wake up late, and everyone has gone out cept for this girl.
'Listen, I hope you don't think I'm nuts but I need to tell someone about what I saw last night.'
She smiled and said ok.
So I told her the story and she listened quietly.
Once I had finished I asked her what she thought.
'Don't worry about it.' She assured me. 'They were here for me.'

ARGHHHUUUUhhh!

She left that day.

I had further conformation in the local pub the next night when an old guy overheard me jabbering on about it. I was getting the usual bemused looks from the local thugs, when the old fella piped up that he had been on the balcony of the high rise council flat having a smoke and that he saw it to.

Still makes me tingle thinking about it.

Just one of many encounters.

Sounds like an incredible sighting! I'm very envious - I'd love to have another clear sighting, just to confirm to myself that the one I had in 1997 was no figmant of my imagination. It's frustrating, because at the time everything seems so clear and real, then the doubts start to appear when you mention it to others and they question everything about it. In the end you start to question it yourself and wonder what you remember was really what you saw. It annoys me when people always ask 'had you been drinking?', because since when did alcohol ever make people hallucinate?

When I say to people I once saw Concorde fly just a few hundred feet over my house, everyone says, 'Wow! that must have been amazing!' not, ' Are you sure it wasn't just a 747?' or 'Had you been overdoing it with the Fosters again?'. But when you say 'I saw these strange lights in a triangular formation a few hundred feet above my house,' suddenly your powers of observation (and sometimes sanity) are questioned.

There are strange things in our skies, for sure, and I for one am quite sure you saw what you say. Thanks for sharing. :)

I've seen strange lights, but as you say above, with time the memory fades and you kinda question how real or amazing the sightings really were.

Seeing a nuts and bolts craft would really blow my mind though.

Tks Elsie for sharing your experiences and feelings. I find it really arrogant and offensive when others question a witnesses own experience. Especially when they know you to be a sane, rational and not crazy person. Why do they doubt that such craft exists. Its really cruel to make people doubt their own sanity and ability to describe what they "know they saw."

By the way, for those of us "not in the know" what is "Fosters"?:)
