Hi all,

Thought I'd post another of my films. This is a protest against the Iraq war by some of Birminghams' muslim community.

This is very interesting because it encompases religeon, politics and self-harm. Even children have been encouraged to take up this practise. As you will see.

I was asked by the organisers not to film the women, who actually headed the protest. I am of mixed feelings about this film.

There's much I don't understand about this so any feedback is very welcome.

It is very tribal.

Hi moderators,

How does one get a Sticky 'round ere'? I'm not really happy with this film, I feel I need to explore the spiritual side and not knowing much about any religion leaves me a little vague.

I have posted this on U-Tube and got some extreemist ranting comment.

EXTERMINATE Islam! MOHAMMED then ordered to cut their hands and feet (and it was done), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, They were put in 'Al-Harra' and when they asked for water, no water was given to them." Abu Qilaba said, "Those people committed theft and murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah and His Apostle . (Sahih Bukhari, Ablutions (Wudu'), Volume 1, Book 4, Number 234)"

My intent is not to help in the further creation of divisions between people. I just turned up and filmed what I saw. None of my documentary films have been pre-planned.

Looks like I'll have to tighten my belt on this one.

I mean, how do I answer back to this stuff?

Could I have a sticky on this please?

Darren

The world you mean?

Yes, the world! But also, people's perception of the world, and most of all - people's belief systems! :)
