Just saw this photo appear on the news. Polar Bear made to look like it would somehow spontaneously combust if it touched the water, and that this is the last piece of ice on the planet. But we know this isn't true, they can swim you know.
Photo looks fake as well.
Did see all the report though, think they were saying that climate change is not as severe as we have been told, but it still a problem.
Wake up people, don't believe the lie.

Makes you kinda feel sad, when you see pics like this, just sad:( i to wish people would wake up,before its to late.
check reflection in water, and yes polar bears can swim, but only for so long.
As it can hunt consistently only from sea ice, the polar bear spends much of the year on the frozen sea, although most polar bears are born on land.
and its not just changing weather patterns affecting polar bears and a lot of wildlife, more man made shit
Pollution
Polar bears accumulate high levels of persistent organic pollutants such as polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) and chlorinated pesticides. Due to their position at the top of the food pyramid, with a diet heavy in blubber in which halocarbons concentrate, their bodies are among the most contaminated of Arctic mammals.[108] Halocarbons are known to be toxic to other animals because they mimic hormone chemistry, and biomarkers such as immunoglobulin G and retinol suggest similar effects on polar bears.

You see, global warming is so severe that the ice rapidly melted around that polar bear, stranding him. Mmm hum. -_-

The photo in itself made me smile, though glad I didn't hear the news story that accompanied it was bound to be rubbish :)

If it is a man-made problem, then why send reporters in helicopters spewing crap into the atmosphere to show us the effects of spewing crap into the atmosphere........If it's a natural cycle, aren't we helpless against the knock on effects of global warming (sic)

I am doing my best to maintain my composure, but must admit the gross lack of sensitivity shown by some members of this forum to the plight of global warming (man-made or not) and the shrinkage of the polar ice cap simply INFURIATES ME! Some of you act as though you think everything and everyone is part of The Grand Conspiracy. Well guess what? They're not. Not all of the scientific and ecological organizations work with TPTB to simply come up with more ways to tax you into abject poverty. There is way too much research to support the fact that the ice shelves are collapsing and the ice is shrinking at a remarkably fast rate. As it continues, these beautiful animals will disappear into history - and some of you act like you don't give a flying fuck. Well, I DO.

Current global warming is a lie designed to take more of our rights away, and a good vehicle through which important aspects of the NWO can be manifested such as energy conservation which results in misery. We're breaking records in terms of how cold it is.

I hear you... I avoided these forums for a while for the very same reasons. Showing a modicum of environmental awareness is enough to get you branded a 'pagan' or a 'population controller' of which I am neither. I do think however that the man-made global warming drum is being beaten so loudly to distract us from all all the other toxic activities. GM food for a start, I'm horrified by this! The amount of landfill waste we produce is another big issue for me, for risk of sounding like an 'earth-worshipper' I believe we should be trying to leave the earth in the state we found it - just good housekeeping.
It's coming up to Christmas and soon the streets will be lined with overflowing bins full of unnecessary plastic objects and wrapping paper, kids will be stuffing themselves with crap in the name of festivities. Residents will be complaining that their bins won't be emptied daily! (who on earth cant cope with a fortnightly collection and what the hell are you putting in your bin!?) This consumer mindset really grieves me :(
I'm not an environmental scientist but with my own eyes I've noticed it's rained nearly everyday for the last 2 years..... any suggestions why?

How many more of these "stranded" polar bear pics are we going to be subjected to? That polar bear is probably a stones throw away from dry land. Even if it's not, I doubt it's in any real danger. It's probably just trying to get a better view of the dude with the camera who's taking his photo:D
Polar bears are strong swimmers; they swim across bays or wide leads without hesitation. They can swim for several hours at a time over long distances. They've been tracked swimming continuously for 100 km (62 mi.) (Stirling, 1988). source (http://www.seaworld.org/infobooks/polarbears/pbadaptations.html)

The Global Warming debate is not whether or not it is 'Man Made' or 'Natural' but whether it is occurring at all.
Thank you for the links, I looked at them all and noticed that they were all posted over a year ago. I hope you don't mind but here are some more recent ones.
You are right that "Not all of the scientific and ecological organizations work with TPTB" but the ones that get their research in the Main Stream Media seem to be.
The Arctic Ice Cap is not shrinking, it has in fact grown this year. You can't 'cherry pick' what information you decide will suite your opinion.
I am in my forties which is not old and not young but in those forty or so years I cannot remember two years of the same weather. I remember freezing cold, loads of snow, no snow at all, wet, dry, mild winters and Really hot, not so hot, wet and dry summers also. This year has been different again and I'm confident next year will also be different.
You can say that forty years is not a particulary long period of time to make any decision on whether or not there is 'Global Warming' but that doesn't seem to bother 'pro-Warmists'.

I did a Google search for 'polar ice shrinkage' and all the links I posted were on the first page, or were linked off the Wiki entry for 'Polar Ice Cap'. I didn't intentionally cherry-pick articles to support my position, I assure you.

I'm 42. I remember when I was a child we had horrendous winters here, with big snows every year; over the last several years the winters have been getting warmer, and we may have one heavy snow every five or six years, with that being the only snow of the season. We've had a couple where we got virtually nothing. Speaking from a personal perspective, that has helped support in my mind the theory of global warming.

The articles you posted were very interesting. Thanks for those. It gives me something to think about, as I try to be open-minded and receptive to information that may support an opposite viewpoint from my own. The articles about the sunspot activity were especially enlightening.
Just to add that I, like you, care very much for the environment and all of it's inhabitants.
That's what angered me in the first place - the lack of compassion shown by some to the polar bears. When animals are involved, I become very passionate about the situation. :o

That Polar Bear is the equivalent of photographers placing Teddy Bears at ground zero... Just bullshit to sell a story.
The sun is affecting ALL the planets. It's the SUN.
Why do you think the BBC are silencing David Bellamy who knows it's a hoax? Because he looks at the situation as a scientist and his results don't flow with TPTB's agenda.

Yes, it's an incredibly misleading photo, and it's meant to be! Polar bears are excellent swimmers and can even cross over 100 miles of open sea. They didn't become extinct during the 9th Century when Admiral Jeng Hue's expedition from China to the polar regions found the ocean ice-free in places where it's even covered today!:p
Polar bears would never have evolved in the first place if they were unable to adapt to changing habitats. They adjust their lifestyle during warm years.
