The phoenicians (with thanks to the American-Lebanese Association website http://www.laa.org/tours/phoenicians.htm) "established great cities at Beirut, Byblos, Tyre, Sidon, and Baalbek; Ancient Phoenicia also produced the rare purple dye that came from a special snail. Purple became the color or royalty. The Phoenicians were an enigmatic people, who left little in the way of written records. Much of what we know of them from ancient times was recorded by Greek and Roman historians who mentioned their seamanship and shrewd business dealings. It was Napoleon III who put modern historians in touch with the Phoenicians.Their major cultural contribution was their alphabet. It consisted of 22 consonants, and was the foundation of our English alphabet, and it was the core for Hebrew, Arabic, and Syriac script. Phoenician' means 'red haired'. The Phoenicians and the Carthaginians expanded all across North Africa and western Europe. They pushed past the Straits of Gibraltar and founded the city of Gades (present day Cadiz) in Spain. While active in Spain, these Phoenician/Carthaginian descendants are called 'Celtiberians' by archaeologists. Later, some sailed away from Spain and colonized the British Isles, where they are simply called 'Celts' by archaeologists. Mention of both the "gens Hiernorum and the insula Albionum" [Britain] suggest that Himilco [c. 425 BC] did not stop at Brittany, but passed on across the channel, and in effect led the way for Carthage to take part in the Cornish tin trade, which we may assume was already being exploited by Mediterranean traders via the overland route and a number of Iron Age finds in Cornwall indicates Iberian contacts..."

The word Phoenician is probebly linked to the word "Venice" and Venetian, and the word Phoenix. The Mediterrean financial and trading empire moved from the Eastern Med to the Northern Med and thenafter to Northern europe and finally London, which became the base for this group. The primary god was El, protector of the universe, but often called Baal. El is connected with Aelf or Elf, and the word Alba or white, linked to Albion. Not to mention other geographical and other links to America.

According to Stephen Oppenheimer, the inhabitants of the B.Isles were and are most closely linked to the Basques in the DNA (The basques have an unusual and rare blood-type as you may know) and who themselves linguistically are linked (in place-name and other spelling similarities) to ancient sumeria and phoenicia. Given that all the western regions of Europe have myths about settlement from the west and by sea, after the deluge, and (for me) the fascinating idea that Britain was visited by traders from the eastern Med, - the recent discovery of ancient copper mines in Wales, the likely fact that the bronze and iron age settlements in England included huge white chalk-covered cities and pyramid mounds - and that the Caesars were determined to eradicate the Druidic culture (and not forgetting the suggection that Joseph of Arimathea and (mother) Mary took refuge in the so-called fortunate isles, actually backed up by a comment by st.Augustine I believe), this new pointer towards a very old genetic link to the eastern Med, the Balkans, and also Finland, is very important. By this argument the ancient control of the british isles by powerful forces ahd been lost and the people had to be brought back under control. Francis Prior is of course well-known also for his view that pre-Roman Britain was advanced as an agrarian society (as much as the tigris/euphates area).

There is thus a link to the deliberate control of commerce and systems of power by these people, that stretches far back. Possibly the chalk iron age forts in Southern England and the great circles and white-clad mounds and chalk figures were perhaps part of this cult, or of an independent idea thatt grew up to resist control.

The Phoenix, the firebird that comes from Paradise, lives five hundred years then rise from the ashes to live another five hundred years. For thousands of years, the land that carried the mountains of Lebanon and hugged the Mediterranean Sea was restless and those who inhabited the very first civilized cities suffered numerous invasions destroying their cities time and again. However, like the Phoenix, the survivors always rose from the ruins; through history, the Phoenix could not live its full lifespan, yet it never failed to rise from its ashes...

Thus the farming aspect, ie using humankind to prolong the eternal rise and supremacy of this dark and secret force, is I think possible to prove.

Any comments?

And from Phoenicia*, we might also say we get "phonetics" and the key to proving the truth about the past lies in part to an understanding of what I refer to as "The Philosopher's Lisp". This lisp is described in veiled terms by a number of ancient writers and it is linked to Plato's idea of the "correctness of names" as described in his dialogue Cratylus where Socrates explains:

"…a king will often be the son of a king, the good son or the noble son of a good or noble sire; and similarly the offspring of every kind, in the regular course of nature, is like the parent, and therefore has the same name.* Yet the syllables may be disguised until they appear different to the ignorant person, and he may not recognize them, although they are the same, just as any one of us would not recognize the same drugs under different disguises of colour and smell, although to the physician, who regards the power of them, they are the same, and he is not put out by the addition; and in like manner the etymologist is not put out by the addition or transposition or subtraction of a letter or two, or indeed by the change of all the letters, for this need not interfere with the meaning.*

The idea that words can be disguised by altering syllables is the basis of the Philosopher's lisp. References to this lisp include:

From Plato’s Gorgias:

Callicles: "I feel towards philosophers as I do towards those who lisp and
imitate children. For I love to see a little child, who is not of an
age to speak plainly, lisping at his play; there is an appearance of
grace and freedom in his utterance, which is natural to his childish
years. But when I hear some small creature carefully articulating
its words, I am offended; the sound is disagreeable, and has to my
ears the twang of slavery.”
(Btw-the name Paul comes from the Latin "paulus" which means "small".)

From Aristotle’s Metaphysics:

“For if we were to follow out the view of Empedocles, and
interpret it according to its meaning and not to its lisping
expression, we should find that friendship is the cause of good
things, and strife of bad.”

Also From Aristotle’s Metaphysics:

“For the earliest philosophy is, on all subjects, like one who lisps,
since it is young and in its beginnings.”

From Plutarch’s Alcibiades:

“It is said that his (Alcibiades) lisping, when he spoke, became him well, and gave a grace and persuasiveness to his rapid speech. Aristophanes takes notice of it in the verses in which he jests at Theorus; ‘How like a colax he is,’ says Alcibiades, meaning a corax; on which it is remarked,-

’How very happily he lisped the truth.’”

This lisp allows us to identify Joseph of Arimathea with Joseph bar Matthias (aka Josephus) and Maria with the Hebrew word merea' which in Greek would be "correctly" expressed as "philos". By following correctness and its lisped relations, proof is at hand. But beware of the Ion's (aka John) whose false interpretations have been able to blind those who might have otherwise seen.

*In Antiquities of the Jews Josephus reports that: "…the king of Tyre (Hiram) sent sophisms and enigmatical sayings to Solomon, and desired he would solve them, and free them from the ambiguity that was in them. Now so sagacious and understanding was Solomon, that none of these problems were too hard for him; but he conquered them all by his reasonings, and discovered their hidden meaning, and brought it to light."

Thank you for your information on the Phoenicians. They were definitely Arians -i.e. of the Aria, the fallen angels who descended to Earth from Mount Eremon (a.k.a. Aryaman and Ahriman), which was in Phoenicia. But I don't think that the name 'phoenix' has anything to do with red hair, though you are welcome to prove otherwise. The Celts are not Phoenicians, though they are said to be descended from Heracles, along with the Thracians and Scythians.

my sir name is possibly phoenecian, there is archeologist studies on the net which state my family name is amongst the first glassblowers to print there names on glass, of which they have found. however they werent sure wether the name derived from the shop in rome or one in syria, where examples from both where found.

this infomation is interesting, as my family have origins in the british ilses from early a.d. too, which makes sense because of the phoenician trading route, i like the idea that phoenician means red hair, as that is linked, somewhat, to celtic liniage. my beard when grown long seems to get clusters of auburn hair too :p

so, thx for posting this is interesting and has sparked an interest to me to look back into this like i once have through my family name.
