Mushrooms will be Illegal 1st December 2008 it is final!
Hi All,
Today is a sad, sad day. It's with anger and pain in our hearts, that we announce the long postponed ban on mushrooms starting from the 1st of december.
It is all over the newspapers in Holland, but there are no official annoucements yet. However, one newspaper states that it is the queen who will sign the law, after which it'll be in immediate effect and offcial announcements will be made to the public.
The plans from the governement to make mushrooms illegal, started when in 2007 a 17 year old french girl commit suicide by jumping of a bridge while under the influence of mushrooms.
If you ask us, we think that mushrooms are just the victim of pure politics. We don't see a ban on alcohol, even though there are thousands of people getting injured or killed each weekend after use of alcohol. We expect that this time it's very serious, and once the ban is out, we will stop selling mushrooms. That means you have two more weeks to order your last batch of mushrooms.
So buy now before stock runs out.

go to cambodia and start selling from there. No one is gonna give you hassle in that place. Tropical climate though...so you wont be growing any philosophers truffles.

can anyone think of some ideas how to continue selling mushies?? Sort of like an "underground/subversive" way of distribution. This is important

Maybe create a DIY Space-Stew recipe kit that contains all the ingredients in separate bags/containers with the kicker being the mushies. So they are not strictly speaking being sold as mushies but part of something else. - If only it were that simple :)

I know that from September/October, prior to the first frost, is the right time to gather Liberty Caps.
What about the other little fungi delights in the UK? Anyone know seasons for those?

So many laws are being passed now because of one sad incident...
Take for example the ban on 'extreme pornography' (a somewhat subjective term) that comes into effect in January 2009 in England & Wales. Caught in possession of such material and you could find yourself in jail for upto 3 years.
This has come about due to the murder of Jane Longhurst apporximately 4-5 years ago by Greame Coutts, who was said to be obsessed with such porn.
It appears now that it only takes one unfortunate incident to start a campaign to bring about these laws in that reduce many people's freedom.
Going back to the original Mushroom law. My understanding was that Mushrooms and Canabis were never 'legal' in Holland just tolerated.

It's really no big deal as Spores are 100% legal in the UK and US (bar 3 states). Grow your own! :D

it's another step in the wrong direction for holland (and possibly the whole world).

Ater this seasons relativly poor crop, only got bout 115 wet grams me an a couple mates want to grow our own. My mate grew cubensis from a grow box and it was really easy but we were wanting to do it ourselves with spores this time, whats the easiest you think ? Is it the cubensis ? Is it all basically the same? cheers
