Fifth Night
As the Moon grows Full, we're nearing the end of the Fifth Night of the Mayan calendar. According to this South American tradition, the Sixth Day will commence on Thursday and will bring a new era, during which people rapidly become more creative, individualistic and clear minded. If that sounds unlikely, given that we're seemingly heading for recession, the Mayans have an explanation. The downturn was a side-effect of the Fifth Night which began in 2006. Some even predicted that it would cause a collapse of Western economic systems. By their reckoning, we're over the worst of this.

lol - Jonathon cocainer :-)
Watch for some mad energies in the next three days 11th-14th November - in particular :-)
The 6th day has it's previous equivalent from 1972-1992. The essence of those 20 years is condensed into just one year from 13th November 2008- november 2009 when we enter the 6th night - I'm told :-)

hmm Im still waiting to meet the neighbours :/
cocainer well he does a lot of festies ! lol anyway those years 72 -92 were not particularly positive , economically or otherwise if thats the case .We had the 3 day week in the UK and the Russia afghan war during that time .I was under the impression the 6th day was a positive time although the influence in just one day would speed up any negative effects .:D

~Welcome to the Sixth Day~
The symbolism of this day is of Flowering, so, according to Barbara Hand Clow in her very good book 'The Mayan Code', it as an optomistic period.
Lets hope so.

What I also find interesting is that as the Galactic underworld and its seven days progress, time speeds up, until 2012, when time will have speeded up so much, we will have been accelerated out of our normal consciousness of time.
It's a concept I have personally found very useful, especially in a world where everything is expected to be done instantly, and our society now demands instant gratification. There is no longer time to stand and stare, and people have become frazzled, unhappy, and angry as a result of not being able to assimilate the effect on their consciousness that this speeding up process is having.
This is why we are at a great advantage if a spiritual path has been, or is being practiced. Trouble is, at the same time it is bringing down the systems and institutions that ordinary people have relied on since the industrial revolution, and earlier. We live in interesting times!
We will have to learn to stand unshaken, amidst the crash of breaking worlds.

Me too! Just love the memory of me laying back on my ponies’ bare back and that feeling of oneness as the bay coloured creature plodded along a deserted lane and I absorbed the vision of a warm, blue sky and all was calm, peaceful and bright…Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Those were the days…:)

The sunshine and the sky /light seemed to have a diferent quality back then , but maybe it was just my perception. Viewed thru the eyes of a younger less cynical self :D

Perhaps although it could be that during the course of ones journey through later life there are not many occasions where-upon one can pause and marvel at the simplest of things like a heavenly sky…:)
My last encounter with such a moment happened about a year ago when I was inspecting a large water tank with the husband who had asked me to follow him up a length of ladders in order to peer inside the tank. I almost reached the top of the rungs when I was suddenly hit with a dizzy spell and I fell backwards landing on my back on the grassy turf below. I lay still for a few moments looking up at the sky thinking to myself! Wow! What a beautiful looking blue sky then I noticed the husbands head peering over the top of the tank at me with the most horrified look on his face and then I burst out laughing. I wasn’t worried if I’d hurt myself because for a few seconds everything was calm and peaceful until that look indicated otherwise…Fortunately I didn’t hurt myself with the fall but that sky was something remarkable and I had the best laugh in a long while…:D
