I never had the need to buy a microwave oven myself and I couldn't understand why people pay money for that machine so they could radiate their food. Now I know what microwave ovens could be used for :)

I'll buy a microwave oven when our country will change our currency to euros and I'll start doing it to all of my bills and maybe even write something on it in order to let other people know that there was a chip before.

RFID Tags in US dollar bills, interesting. I will think I will try that on a brand new 20 dollar bill and see what happens.

Ya i have heard of this.....

Wouldnt taking a hammer and pounding the shit out of your $$$ also ruin the chip inside?? (Microwaving ruins the whole bill 1/2 the time)

Wrapping stuff in foil is about the best you can do outside of microwaving it i guess.......

for that machine so they could radiate their food.

I hope you don't use a mobile phone. For i'll be more concerned about putting a strong signal near my brain rather than cooking food in the buzz-box.

The microwave in a microwave oven is non-ionising radiation. Light is radiation so don't be so quick to connect the radiation word with danger. Non ionising radiation within the box vibrates the water molecules within the item thus producing friction which then turns to heat.

Non-ionising means that is doesn't screw up your DNA. Read more about it.

DISCLAIMER: Don't go and stick your head in the oven if you happen to play with the damn thing and defeat the safety catches and then turn it on. Not saying you would, however.

EDIT: forgot my 2cents. :D

Has anyone seen Australian currency? The notes are plastic. They have the usual embossed print, but also have seen thru windows and if you hold it up to the light you get the usual patterning to defeat counterfeiting. No RFID chips needed.

EDIT2: here is whay it looks like: AUS (http://www.rba.gov.au/CurrencyNotes/NotesInCirculation/index.html)
