In other countries the name “Jesus” is commonplace, but it’s not a common name here in the west, even though we have a lots of other biblical names John, Mark etc..so why not call your son Jesus? Or Jebus?

Perhaps because they believe he will come back soon? Just a thought :)
It would be confusing with millions of people called Jesus around. Now that would make a decent anti-christ conspiracy. satan kills every baby thats named jesus so that he can't return :p

Probably because they know their kid will be forever getting into a brawl at school. Like "The Boy Named Sue" :)
If my folks had named me Jesus pronounced with a hard "J" in my neighborhood, I'd probably have turned out like the boy named Sue.
I'm glad they didn't go with Percebel either.
Frank, or Bill, or George! Anything but Sue!

Why would a cultured wetern family want to name their child "Son of Zeus"?
Je = son, Sus = Zeus. Pronounced properly, hey-zoos, Jesus - son of Zeus.
It seems to me that might leave a young male open to ridicule from his peers whenever there's a thunderclap...or a lighting strike...
"Haha, your Daddy is angry..."

plenty of Christians around the world do indeed name their sons Jesus so it is perfectly acceptable.
In the UK we dont, but so what, we dont name our kids Moses either or Enoch or Ezekiel.
Fashions change.
I am sure alot of kids will get names Lewis now after Lewis Hamilton.
Just to emphasise the point further, people are not called names like Isambard Kingdom Brunel anymore either.
Jesus is a male name just like any other, but i understand some parents would find it very overpowering and choose safe common names like David, John, William, etc

My son isn't called Jesus because I don't have one. Either, son or a Jesus.
Uhh uhh, and I'm not a Christian.

the real name is yashuah/yeshua, and the nearest english translation of the aramic/hebrew name is joshuah.
see there is no j in the aramhic/hebrew alphabet, thus he could not be called jesus, and to be frank, the letter j was added to the english language about 500 years ago, lol.
thus take a holistic look, the history of cultures, empires, languages, nations is important aswell.
alot of english names come from the bible, thus they come from middle eastern names. in india we say mika, in europe they micah/michael. there is simeon in middle east, in english its simon, look at girls names eg tara is indian, kiran in indian equals karen in english, then we have indian sara/zara which equals sarah in english. thus our names show a global historical/cultural connection. even if we look at surnames, the connection between some irish surnames and panjabi/indian surnames is well documented eg indian/irish = bains/baines, dillon/dhillon/dylan, murti/murphy, mann/mann.
we are all connected if you look deep enough

Hey that’s a good idea…If only I had a son named Jesus then I’d have a good excuse for screaming out Jesus Christ Almighty when-ever P’d Off.
Might get me out of the blasphemous whore clause…
