okay this is kind of gross...i don't have any pics tho.

i've heard that tea tree oil is a powerful antiseptic but until an experiment i did the other day i didnt realize how strong it was.

so i have keloidal skin. when i was in high school i got an extra ear piercing and two keloids came on my ears. they weren't huge, but annoying. so i went to a dermatologist. they injected the scars with cortisone and the scars eventually diminished. now they aren't even noticeable.

fast forward to march of this year...
i had emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder.
they cut my stomach in four places.
as a result, i've developed hypertrophic scars in those areas. the biggest of the scars is about an inch long and wide directly under my navel, and the other was about an inch long in the middle of my chest. i assume the scars are still healing cuz they itched like crazy up until my 'experiment.' they also became very hard and i was afraid that they would only get bigger.

i did some reading about homeopathic remedies and read about how tea tree oil worked wonders for keloids and hypertrophic scars.

so i decided to inject the scars with both hydrocortisone and tea tree oil on wednesday. that night they turned really dark and were only leaking a little bit. they also turned really soft.

woke up thursday and they were oozing and leaking all day long. i took a shower and cleaned up the areas a bit. i applied more tea tree oil, then i covered the scars with gauze applying a bit of pressure as to flatten them out a bit.

this afternoon i removed the gauzes and the raised scar areas had somewhat dissolved leaving raw open wounds. as i removed the gauzes i noticed that the skin around the entire area was pulled off. what i believe was the scar tissue was a bit of tough tissue on one of the gauzes.

i'm kind of freaked out cuz they're raw open wounds. they're not bloody tho. they're also not painful. its a bit uncomfortable bending but it doesn't feel nearly as bad as it looks. the largest one under my navel is a bit indented, which was how deep the keloid was i guess. i dont think that skin will fill out again, but its better than having a fat nasty scar on my belly.

i applied more tea tree oil and covered them again. because the skin is so raw i didn't want to take a shower and get it wet.
even tho it looks gross i feel confident that healthy skin will grow again.

i think it was the tea tree oil that helped more than they hydrocortisone.
so if you guys have a scrape or a scar, i highly suggest that you apply tea tree oil on it instead of the usual peroxide/alcohol.

The three major items in my medicine cabinet are tea Tree Oil, Lavender and German Chamomile.

Oh and I have a pot of aloe vera at the door. These are all I have used in years.

I even took them to the Aussie meet up last year and used the tea tree oil and lavender for ticks acquired by a couple of people.

Be very careful though as sometimes people are allergic to even natural products and should only be used topically

A very good book is Fragrant Pharmacy.

it sounds like the tissue is necrotic, go to the doctors!

Very good advice I think.

Tea tree oil is not meant to be injected as far as I am aware and I would not be mixing anything with cortsione.

tea tree oil is great for fungal infections, I apply topically directly on the site of infection for 2x day, about 5-7 days or until infection completely gone.

The first two ingredients have been accused of causing prepubescent and male boob growth.

I've been using tea tree oil for cold sores, and did notice that it helped kill itches that were probably due to fungus.
