I just came across this on YouTube and I thought that I would share it with you. It's Ricky Gervais and Russell Brand interviewed at Live Earth in 2007. It's good that they didnt take the "climate change" scam very seriously :-

That is a little unfortunate but it SEEMS that Russell Brand is stuck in the left v right mindset. But at least he slagged off Bush. Fox news obviously had great joy in reporting it because it probably helps to keep the people in the left v right mindset unfortunately. But at least he slagged off Bush on tv which helps.

Russell Brand, under fire for making obscene phone calls on his BBC Radio 2 show, has tried to turn the tables on his tabloid tormentor by highlighting Associated Newspapers' flirtation with fascism in the 1930s.

The BBC said it had received 67 complaints yesterday after Brand and his fellow Radio 2 presenter Jonathan Ross left a series of crude messages on former Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs' answerphone.

These messages, broadcast on Brand's late-night Radio 2 show on Saturday, October 18, included telling 78-year-old Sachs that Brand had slept with his granddaughter and joking that the actor might kill himself as a result.

Brand used this Saturday night's show to apologise for the comments, which were aired in a pre-recorded segment on the previous weekend's show.

He also used Saturday's show, broadcast live, to launch a broadside against the Mail on Sunday, which led with the story on its front page yesterday.

"I would like to take this opportunity to issue a personal Russell Brand apology to Andrew Sachs, the great comic actor who played Manuel, for a message Jonathan and I left on his answerphone, but it was quite funny," the Radio 2 presenter told listeners.

"But sometimes you mustn't swear on someone's answerphone and that is why I would like to apologise personally."

He continued: "I would like to remind the Daily Mail [sic] that while it is a bit bad to leave a swearword on Andrew Sachs' answerphone, what's worse - leaving a swearword on Andrew Sachs' answerphone or tacitly supporting Adolf Hitler when he took charge of the Third Reich?

"When he became chancellor in the old late 1930s the Daily Mail printed a letter from a lord going 'this Hitler might be all right'. And once old Blackshirt Oswald Mosely came to prominence in this country the Daily Mail went, 'Hurrah for our blackshirted chums'."

Brand then went on to invite listeners to text into the show. "On one hand you have upset Manuel, on the other you have millions and millions of dead people supported by a powerful media institution," he said.

"It's up to you the listener to decide which is worse. Offending Manuel, for which I apologise, or is it worse to tacitly support the death of millions?"

Brand and Ross reportedly began leaving the messages after Sachs apparently did not answer his phone for a pre-arranged interview to promote a television show.

Ross left a message telling Sachs: "He fucked your granddaughter." Brand denied this, but added: "Oh no, I have revealed I know her name."

After discussing how Sachs might hang himself as a result, the pair made a string of calls in which they ostensibly attempted to apologise for what was "just a joke", but continued to leave lewd messages.

At one point, Brand sang: "I said some things I didn't of oughta, like I had sex with your granddaughter, though it was consensual."

A spokeswoman for Sachs said the actor, who played waiter Manuel in Fawlty Towers, was "upset" by the incident but did not wish to comment further.

His agent Meg Poole said that she had emailed and written to the BBC to formally complain about the calls and was awaiting a response.
