these are people of rare courage coming forward. they did the best they could, with the knowledge and beliefs they had.
it may be obvious now that communism was always intended to be a straw man, but back then, the populations of both countries lived under a very high threat of nuclear war. i vaguely remember the cuban missile crisis. i do remember my mom being very freaked out about it.
2 or 3 generations of americans lived under this miasma of the fear of commies.
i had a journalism minor in college, and my specialty was viet nam war literature and journalism. there was a whole 'secret history' of the war that even today, most people aren't aware of. the whole country was duped in a well-orchestrated deception.
the interviewees are regular american folk, who made a bad career move. :(

If this is true by erradicating deception we erradicate war, by erradicating secret societies and secret actions we can erradicate war. Deception and secrecy breeds suspicion, deception and secrecy.
