For buying alcohol see more here (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1079515/Supermarket-shoppers-face-walk-shame-alcohol-checkout-counter.html)
My solution to this is buy from your local shop they deserve the business more than the greedy supermarkets anyway

That has to be the dumbest idea?
What if you are buying for party?
Does not stop you binge drinking at a pub? Uggghh!
Maybe they can waste their time and put it up on YouTube?
Next they will but one up at the Sweetie / Chocky counter ... !!
"Stores would have to create the 'alcohol-only' areas manned by specially-trained staff." - Daily Mail
"Can i see some ID please". Well done you've passed the course, heres your certificate. Lol.
"However, they are considering a system of barcoding of alcohol products to ensure the point of sale can be quickly identified." - Daily Mail
Maybe this might alert some people to the big brother society when even there precious cider will be tracked by police.
IMO the next step will be to make every purchase of alcohol and tobacco require an ID no matter how old the person looks, so it can be logged.

They are making the beer so cheap so as to stop people socialising
that's why the pubs and especially the social clubs are so quiet now
it stops people getting together to complain how shit the world is becoming
keep them in their house and watch the aspartainment on TV
I think the smoking ban was for that underlying reason as well
although I agree with it for health reasons, but it certainly started the mass
migration to the home hypnotic box.
Quite clever really

Mmm I think that you're onto something there!
Everyone in South Africa is into Cocooning!
We can no longer learn from each other - we
must learn from the Brainwash box and Hollywood,
Bollywood! We are becoming more anti-social!
Its ok for me as long as I have my Internet!
My window on the world!
People stop writing letters and started using email
and now people dont even email .. we are reduced
to a one-liner on Facebook!

Yet another dumb idea from our thick idiot Labour Government Ministers who are so stupid they think they can control the population in such ways.
If any of our Government Ministers had half a brain they might like to ask why is there a culture of binge drinking in Britain that is far worse than any other country in Europe when we have the highest priced supermaket alcohcol in Europe (actually the world)?
I actually don't think they'll do this, as their friends at Tesco and Sainsbury and the brewing industry will not like the idea and have a quiet word with the Government telling them not to do it. We all know Labour don't listen to the views of the UK electorate, in fact, I would even go so far as to say they have utter contempt for the views of the UK electorate, but they do listen to the views of big corporations.

Slightly off topic but...
Been thinking about a course of action against supermarkets who in any way help to move the ID card / cashless society idea forward. e.g Proposing to have to show ID card to buy certain goods etc
Load up your trolley. At the checkout you ask for the Manager . When he arrives you tell him that on the way round you've been thinking quite deeply about the supermarkets role in the ID card scheme and you've decided that you don't want their goods afterall.
Off you toddle but not before leaving him with a letter to head office outlining your objections. Imagine 20-30 of these actions on the same day in the one supermarket...oh bliss!
p.s notice I filled in the title box!!

Also so that twats who cant function without alcohol will do their best to keep their passport/driving license/ID card up-to-date!
It's a win-win for the PTB.
Particularly as the kind of target demographic is for people aged 18-25, how clever to ensure that as kids hit 18 they enter into the system. Be it passports, IDs or whatever, this is all very very cunning as people, especially young people are foolish and find alcohol (the destroyer of all things good) socially acceptable and love to be part of it.
This is ALL bad. I care not though as I would rather drink my own piss.
