Get discount? In high street shops???Well I get a discount in my local BNQ shed because I have a BNQ trade discount card. I also get discount in my local plumbers merchants because I spend so much with them. That's nothing to do with being a mason though.

Using their Savings Degree Card???:eek:Double . I've never been given one. Perhaps I don't know the right people. LoL.

True Story...!Probably is. Name me one magazine or paper where you don't get the situation where you take the advert in and get given a discount because you brought the advert in.. If he got the advert from an FM mag then it's quite likely that he's an FM. Yes?

He didnt get the ad from the paper he just said he was a Freemason, then he wrote in to tell the magazine about the situation he'd been in!

Loads of groups get discounts for no reason, just to tap into a market. I've used it if there is a big market I want to capture, word of mouth advertising is not only the best you can get it is also free!

Group A gets a discount with Company B
Memebers of Group A share this info with other Group A members.

Company B steals the market, smaller margin but bigger market share, after that its 8-10 times cheaper to maintain these customers than have to try and win new ones.

F**king crazy! I remember someone on another forum saying how they used to work in a Lodge (cleaning and stuff) and said how well paid it was. Maybe it was home of those Lodges that were quite charitable to their workers. Made me consider getting a job there.

Quite apart from the fact that most motor insurance starts of at a ridiculous premium just so that they can drop the price and make it look a good deal when someone says,

“Oh, I’m a Freemason/WI Member/Lizard Believer, do I get a discount?”
“Course you do, mug..sir, it’s your lucky day, step right this way with your cheque-book”

..there is also the concept of preferred groups to insurers, and given the relative age, etc of Masons, then they might represent a better risk and attract a lower premium.

As do the over 50’s and women (women over 50 probably get it free – they bloody ought to where I live in Eastbourne – none of them drive fast enough to cause any real damage.. )
