Why would not having an extra bit of bold text on a page prevent a search engine from indexing it?

I'm serious, tell me. This doesn't seem to affect the page meta data at all - the only thing adding the titles seems to do is add bold text to the page, using the HTML strong tag. The description meta data is the page title that appears in the top of your browser, so basically the title of the very first post in the thread, and the keywords are a constant list of keywords that appear on every page in the forum, plus the words in the description meta data, plus any keywords that were added to the thread - but that has nothing to do with adding titles to posts.

Not all search engine have the same algorithms setup but basically the same Principal; engines some maybe only index the first 100 characters some engines index 450 characters. (Close enough!)

So not Title Name no individual indexing! One thread theoretically with 100 posts could end-up with 100 indexes again depend on your keyword selection in your title!

What is your point, then? That Google gives more weight to bold text? I don't doubt that, but I'm also pretty sure all the weights are normalized, and that this would therefore reduce how important Google considers the actual post.

But I don't actually care how Google does what it does, my grievance is with the statement 'If you don't enter a Title Name then it will never be picked up by any search engines!', which is false, and the whole reason this thread exists.

Google picks up whole DI threads regardless - every post on a thread on here (except for those in the Conspiratainment & Rant Room sub-forums) can be read and show in Google searches; so it's not entirely necessary to headline your posts cos' anyone who peruses the threads can see them anyway. But it does help to create a seperate search alright.

Try this first. I have stated two ways of doing this

I'm not sure which browser you use but I use Opera?

One way is that you can take any image address from any image & even icons you visually see anywhere on you're browser by clicking the right mouse button which should gives you the option to copy the Image address.

Example:
Place you're Mouse over any image right click & select
copy Image Address
this will store the address in your computer memory called clipboard In this case it's this:

Why doesn't "speak" work when tab is changed?
I don't think this is a feature request, since I'm pretty sure it worked in prior versions, though admittedly it's been a while since I used the "speak" command. I like to go to a weather forecast page, and have Opera speak the forecast while I browse on other tabs. However, in the beta when I try this, as soon as I switch tabs, the speaking stops. Did it work this way in prior versions, or am I remembering wrong? If not, I'll post it as a feature request. If so, why did the behaviour change?

I found a way buy mistake to look at other tabs & Speaking still continues Talking from the other page!!!!!!

Not the best way of doing it but it works!

Works perfectly.
If you intend to listen to one page while looking at other pages click on the address bar of all the other pages!
This will pop-up the address drop-down & it stays active even if you move to another page.
Then go to the page you like listen too; select the text & make it speak then you can go back open any other page which has the address bar still active & it will not switch off the speaking from previous page!

Note:
Do not click on the page or refresh the page you are viewing; just use the Scroll bar to activate the scroll then you can use your mouse wheel for viewing ..... because clicking the page will naturally reset the address bar on the page and stops the speaking.


Well I found this because I realised that the Speaking did not stop if I moved to a new tab which shows me the Speed-dial page which has the address bar already active to enter a link & looking at the Speed-dial page did not cancel the Speaking from the other page.
Well then I activated all the address bars on my other tabs first & this worked perfectly..... Great!

Hope this will help someone like me listening & looking at other pages at the same time ??

Here comes my master peace of a Speak Button & all address bars; of up to 30 Tabs will be activated in one go & it speaks...... Great!

Copy's selection then Focus address field of all Pages then it Speaks & you can Read any of up to 30 Pages with this button ... also you can cancel Speak by pressing same button for two seconds. ....
But same rule as before don't refresh or click on any page you reading from; because it will cancel the Speaking!

Country specific internet censorship is very common to block users of other countries from accessing online content - popular examples of such censorship would be Youtube, Hulu, Pandora and BBC Player, We have shared many anonymous surfing tricks to bypass these limitations but they were mostly limited to act as a USA or UK proxy.

Today's trick allows you to use popular anonymity network TOR providing you an IP address from country of your choice, we will be configuring TOR to have an exit node of our choice so that we can control our IP's country as required.

Configuring TOR to use an IP of choice :
Download TOR + Vidalia bundle from here (https://www.torproject.org/easy-download.html.en), I prefer the all-in-one Portable version (https://www.torproject.org/torbrowser/dist/tor-im-browser-1.2.8_en-US.exe) which comes with Firefox.
Launch Vidalia control panel and click View the network button.

Well I figured it out!

This one works fine on Opera 11.11 ..... I'm just running on a Indian IP..... Now it changed to a New York IP ...... It works OK!

We have a forum glitch, the videos keep disappearing into the either :D

what you do is edit your post and click save, that usually sorts it out, but this one has disappeared twice now :D

I think I may found the forum glitch & why the videos not showing up!!! >>> correction I know now the problem proof below.

This all started after the YouTube changed there system from the http:// format to the https:// format. >>> when you copy the links now from YouTube they are all https:// .....

Note & look at the format I tried:
I think it's the setting in the original youtube.com invoking script here on the Forum which will not automatically invoke the https = Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a combination of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) with SSL/TLS protocol to provide encryption

http = basic Hypertext Transfer Protocol with no encryption!


I'm not sure what video invoking script you are using; but you should be able to add the "https://" function & the only "/v/" function to the script & all three options should work then permanently.

One of your forum technical guys knows exactly what I'm talking about!


Format 1) will not show because it does not like the https = just remove the "s" so it only shows the http:// format.

Format 2) will not work because of this "/v/" change it to this "/watch?v="

Format 4) = OK Works!

Format 5) = Is Perfect & will automatically adds the BB code to the link!

This setting finally saved me from the Adds screwing with my Browser & speech function on Opera!
Especially while I edit my posts!

Also makes the page load much faster now!!

Free at last!! ..... finally found a per site setting without disabling Java ..... Perfect!

Yes you're absolutely right, it is possible we wake up one morning and no internet, end of communication it could also google will remove any delicate information from its servers.

One of the reasons people like Microsoft and Virgin Media are trying to get people to upload all they data so they are in control of it, Please do not use these kinds of options like "Cloud" keep your stuff on your hard disk and some other external medias and always make copies of your stuff, because all sensitive information will be the first to go from the internet.

Videos, articles, documents and so on..
I have two external hard disk I keep I put everything that is important on there, I have practically nothing on my laptop, and it's usually temporary files that are not important.

Avoid all the cloud even google offers this options I believe, becareful

Long time collection ..... every time I see a good one I download it & place it in my Photobucket!

One easy way is;
to place your mouse over any image or smiley on any Web-page then click the right mouse button & select save image , save it onto your computer & download it to your own photo collection account "like photobucket" which will create your own link code.

Also you could click on your right mouse & select "Copy Image Address" & use the original link address;
but by doing this you are using the bandwidth from another side which is not really NICE to steal bandwidth http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/angry/no.gif from others; if you use Images regularly.


You see here is one example using the original code:
if you like to use the "thumb up icon/smiley" in your posting http://forum.davidicke.com/images/icons/icon14.gif from the Reply to Thread page here on the forum, place your mouse over the icon; then click the right mouse button select "copy image address"; this will store the code in your clipboard & then past the code from the stored clipboard into your page wherever you like it.
