My local newspaper describes this as "McCain's reaction to realising he is exiting the stage in the wrong direction", so basically this is 'McCain's reaction to realising that he's a fuckwit'.
And when you really think about that and look at the photograph, it becomes a serious contender for the funniest picture ever taken.

He's too loose on the borders and way too close with the Israeli Zionist lobby but still.. Sometimes I feel sorry for that guy.

Me too. I wholeheartedly wish ill on Cheney, or even Obama, but McCain I feel sorry for. Maybe it's because I've seen him on Conan O'Brien couple of times.

This photo has gained widespread mainstream exposure around the world.
The opinion pieces on this debate in the mainstream Australian newspapers are clearly spouting out the undiluted establishment line now, in a way that the mainstream US media isn't allowed to just yet: Obama will beat McCain.
That doesn't necessarily mean Obama will be the next President, only that there will be no vote-rigging to favour McCain. If anything, they will rig the election to ensure Obama wins.
I think this is an important observation, and is a crystal clear one to me, on the other side of the world here where it doesn't matter, which is why they've already let the cat out of the bag.
Obama could still go by scandal or bullet before the election, which would mean Hilary easily over McCain in a few short weeks of national grief and Democratic Party love-ins, or, second possibility, a national emergency being declared, martial law and more Bush and the resuscitated Cheney to endure.
I'm ruling McCain/Palin out of my future projections as of this moment.
History indicates that they don't pull the blatantly crazy shit that's available to them all that often, so, unless Obama get's buttfucked by the establishment within the next week or so (in order to give Hilary the amount of time needed to gain the media exposure that would create a plausible momentum), my tip is that he will be 'elected' the next President of the United States.
After that moment, the possibilities fan out again with a multitude of viable scenarios.
