Pilots ready to seek legal action over ID cards
Tuesday, October 14th, 2008
The British Airline Pilots Association union has warned it may seek a judicial review of the government’s ID cards scheme to prevent pilots being forced to carry identity cards.
By Natasha Lomas | As part of a phased introduction of ID cards, the government has stipulated that people working in certain ’sensitive areas’ such as airports will be required to hold an identity card from mid-2009. Foreign nationals will also have to carry the cards, with theirs set to be issued from next month.
A spokesman for the British Airline Pilots Association (Balpa), which represents more than 10,000 airline pilots — some 90 percent of the UK workforce — said: “The possibility of [seeking] a judicial review is very high on the agenda.”
“[The review] would be on the basis that we are told repeatedly by ministers that the ID card scheme is voluntary but how can it be voluntary if we stand the prospect of losing our jobs?” he said.
The Balpa spokesman said pilots are of the view that security at airports can be tightened by implementing a national airport pass scheme, rather than by forcing them to carry ID cards. “We’ve been on at the government for a long time to standardise and have a national airport pass which in fact would do the trick but the government’s refusing to go down that line,” he said. “They say it’s up to individual airport owners.
“[But] you don’t have to go through the ID card route… It’s a false premise. Security can be tightened in other ways.”
Balpa’s national executive has already had several meetings with the government to voice its objections to ID cards, and further talks have been offered, according to the spokesman, which the union intends to take up.
However, he added: “Ministers tell us, ‘well, it’s going to happen anyway’.”
Additional primary legislation would be required for ID cards to become compulsory for every UK citizen or resident and, according to the government, there is no timetable for its introduction.

Dear Jaqui Spliff,
Just a quick line to say that I would happily instigate a Cull of you and your Nazi mates in Westminster, starting with your Boss, Broon.
You might mention to your Snoop Polizei that tea and a digestive will be on offer when they call, but please dont kick in the door till after 0600 as my elderly neighbours may take fright and have a heart attack and that the ambulance may not be able to get to due to filling in some forms.
P.S please can I have a cell with a view.

The move comes after the police and the security services warned that criminals were becoming increasingly sophisticated in their use of technology to avoid detection.
Yeah, if I was a terrorist, would I be using a public telecommunications system to communicate with my cell buddies? Duh. This is east german style statism where the state is paranoid about it's own citizens - I wonder why? Another thing - this legislation originates from that bastion of freedom and liberty - the EU. Hitler's dream.
Read all about the EU Data retention directive here (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/02/24/data_retention_directive_ratified/).

I might start adding certain keywords onto my email subject, such as "Bomb parliament" or "Polonium Brown". Then when my emails get flagged and read, i can tell the nazi twats what i think of them.
The only terrorists in this country are the handful they don't control. These are the people who end up setting themselves on fire in a bungled gas bottle ramraid!
If it goes BOOM, it's the intelligence services. If it goes POP, it's a wannabe guy fawkes. Who do these fascists think they're kidding?
Go and fist your dirty anus, Smith!

Excellent suggestion. It was always said, before they actually tried to introduce 1984, you know back in the day when it was a work of fiction, that it was unrealistic, because there were never be enough people to monitor everyone and everything.
I know they have computer programmes, but if the above suggestion is done be everyone, it will presumably need human intervention at some point and just like in 1984, there simply would not be enough government employees to read everything. I don't want the Government reading my emails on principle, but if they did, it's not like I'm involved in any organised crime or terrorism groups, a lot of it would be forwarding information, or ranting about the NWO, which I do so publicly on web forums anyway.
Of course the real terrorists would use highly encrypted emails, but most of them are controlled by CIA or MI5/6 or MOSSAD, so they would have direct access, so shouldn't need to spy on them, as they know what they are up to anyway.

my tuppence worth for the 'nazi twats'
To: everyone
Subject: bomb parliament
This is what I think of the Nazi twats who are hell bent in turning the UK into an Orwellian-syle Police State (kill Gordon Brown); if you nosy bastards want to read my emails, then I'll happily let you read one of my rants (assassinate Jacqui Smith). Hitler tried this sort of thing in the 1930-40s and failed, in fact our grandparents and great grandparents gave their lives in huge numbers to stop this kind of happening in Britain and just because the loathsome Broon has been told by his New World Order paymasters to carry on the bad work of Adolf, it does not mean that we, the British people, are going to take it lying down and let you get away with these evil plans of mass enslavement.
If you are genuinely worried about terrorism, don't worry, (kill the Government), these key words are just added to my email to get your attention, if you really do have concerns about terrorism, please look closer to home, i.e., at the people who are employing you. Do 10 minutes of research on Google and you will discover that 9/11, the Madrid bombings and the London 7/7 attacks were all examples of false flag terrorist operations, i.e., carried out by our own governments or intelligence agencies to install a sense of fear into society to bully them into accepting further curtails on our freedoms (like giving you nosy gits the power to read this email) and to start wars in the Middle East that otherwise would have never took place (murder President Bush).
If you have a conscience, you would stop reading these emails, denounce your Government employers, blow the whistle on what they're really up to, and find something worthwhile to do instead, like importing or growing cannabis.
With peace and (blow up a passenger plane) love,
Chris.
