The horror movie franchise Saw has not only become a staple at cinemas since the 2004 original's release, but it has now spawned it's own rollercoaster ride at Britain's Thorpe Park.

Saw: The Ride, which opens at the theme park in Surrey venue next March, will see riders face a terrifying and record breaking 100ft vertical freefall plummet. The films are based on ingenious traps laid out by sadistic serial killer Jigsaw (played by Tobin Bell). He punishes his victims because they have led questionable lives.

It's to be the first rollercoaster to be based on a horror movie. In a statement, Lionsgate (who produce the films) said, "Saw – The Ride is a reflection of how thoroughly the Saw franchise has crossed over into pop culture at large. We are delighted to be working with Thorpe Park to continue that expansion with the scariest ride in the world.”

Saw V will be released in cinemas on October 24.

Never seen a saw and the fact that Lionsgate is all happy about this is pretty twisted. But then there are families who probably watch all that shit together and are probably quite thrilled about this.

Just the sort of thing you want kids to be exposed to at the theme park, a promo for a murder flick. Still they feed violent shit into their brains in video games from being toddlers so Saw should be seen as normal behavior by most of them by now.

Saw movies are nothing, if you want to watch a real horror movie, watch the antics of mad mick in Wolf creek, about an aussie serial killer operating in the outback, trapping unsuspecting tourists and backpackers.

I'm pretty sure the following was from Wolf Creek...

I like the part where the guy stopped his car, put a stainless steel mug(?) on the roof while he fumbled around in the boot or something, then he looks up and there's a bullet whole in mug! The next bullet he catches though:(

Stop being so wet. People have always loved horror;adults and children. Families attended executions, payed to see the Grand Guignol and we still encourage our kids to go and see an infanticidal,wife-beating psychopathic puppet for entertainment and amusement. How many of us were brought up with tales of wolves being cut open and old women being shoved into ovens by children? Roald Dahl didnt become one of the best loved childrens authors becouse he wrote about pixies and kittens.
I'm glad we've still got stuff like this.It shows that we're still human.
