Well, ladies and gentlemen, I stumbled across this ad on Craigslist.com
Thought it was intriguing . . . . and if you wanted to live in NYC for a short time, perhaps rent-free, I guess this MIGHT be just the thing. I, myself, have no relationship or knowledge of the character who posted the ad.

Live-in research/personal assistant to defray rent
The loft is 2000 sq ft. and I live there with my girlfriend.
Some details:
Laundry room in loft
Very-high tin ceilings
Keyed elevator opens into loft
Huge eat-in kitchen
Dishwasher
Hardwood floors
Tons of storage space
Roof is accessible for small gatherings
I am looking for a research/personal assistant to help me put together a project on the 2012 ascension transition. I would like to offer either a full or partial rent reduction in exchange for this work. If you are interested, please tell me a bit about yourself and relevant background.
Also if you are interested in helping reorganize/clean/maintain the loft, further rent reduction will be applied.
Rent/work split can be determined based on your availability.
This can be short term (on the order of a few weeks), or possibly longer term.
Subways that are very close: N/Q/R/W, 6, B/D/F/V, J/M/Z Subways that are close: C/E, 1/2/3
Dates are somewhat flexible. Immediate start is fine.
