Mtsar mentioned the falling fish phenomina, that there's a possibility that ice from tiamat, a destroyed planet, is floating around in space, mainly as the asteriod belt, and that these asteroids are mostly ice, water that once was on tiamat. Every now and again one of these frozen chunks of ice falls through our atmosphere carying with it whatever frozen species it has in it thus as it melts through the atmosphere, you get the falling fish phenomina.
It is also said that this is where a lot or some of Earth's water and marine life comes from, since some of these species can hybernate/survive somehow.
