View Full Version : Rumour:Pre guarantee run on Irish Banks
I have Irish relatives and rumours are filtering back through the family that prior to the guarantee there were mutliple runs on multiple banks in Ireland.
This hasn't been reported in the news that I have seen (bbcNews 24, russia today, bloomberg) but apparently there was a small piece reported somewhere.
Can any one confirm this?

Don't believe in 'Guarantees'. They would have to have twice the money so halving your value. It's just ridiculous.

It's really starting to stare us in the face, this economic meltdown. Bartering or local currency may be the only solutions in the interim period. Going to get tough soon.

For those who have lived in denial......I'm afraid cruise4, you're right.....its staring them in the face. So my question is has anyone written a book on bartering.....time to educate ourselves:)
