I am a pretty chaotic person, I'm so lazy I often have 4+ plates standing on my desk and some stuff scattered across the floor:rolleyes: , it simply doesn't bug me but,
seeing something like this is really gross. Some time back I actually heard that it is associated with a mental illness that prevents people from getting rid of basically anything so they'd have a tendency to keep things no matter what it is.

Yea I agree, most definitely - unless, well, it also enjoyed being fat and lazy ;)

I'd really actually like to see a report (somehow) on how unhealthy that person (and animal!) was while living in that truly unreal situation.

Very sad.

If you read the comments section, it explains how the woman had two cats whose dead bodies are presumed to be somewhere in the apartment...

Yup, there were 2 cats in that place, but one of them was living with another person.. so that one cat was okay, but.. what about the other one? He's probably dead under all that crap.. and yeah, this was a woman's apartment.

At first I was wondering what was all that shit in the bathroom's sink.. but when I got a closer look, I decided I didn't want to know...

I feel so much better about my apartment now.

I was thinking the same!

I was almost afraid to open up the pictures, thinking what if it's the mirror image of mine!

But I am not a bulimic chainsmoker! OMG! I can also sleep in my bed! and use my computer!

It's funny that you can see a box for an Oral B electric toothbrush and cleaning stuff on the kitchen counter.

What the hell happened in that TUB?

Ye Gawds!

It’s called ‘Compulsive/pathological hoarding’ and it’s a mental illness.
I don’t feel it’s right to make fun of sufferers of this disorder... :(

World of Compulsive Hoarders
channel4.com

One in 200 people in the UK is a hoarder: someone who can't stop collecting things but can't bear to throw anything away. Compulsive hoarding is a recognised manifestation of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Many compulsive hoarders live claustrophobic, lonely existences, often in a vicious circle of deprived circumstances with their accumulated piles of rubbish preventing them from even eating, sleeping and keeping themselves clean.

Compulsive hoarding

Compulsive hoarding (or pathological hoarding) is the acquisition of, and failure to use or discard, such a large number of seemingly useless possessions that it causes significant clutter and impairment to basic living activities such as mobility, cooking, cleaning, showering or sleeping.

It is not clear whether compulsive hoarding is a condition in itself, or simply a symptom of other related conditions.[1] Several studies have reported a correlation between hoarding and the presence and/or severity of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Hoarding behaviour is also related to obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD). Hoarding rubbish may be referred to as syllogomania or disposophobia.

The Psychology of . . . Hoarding
discovermagazine.com

Hoarders tend to be emotional; they attach sentimental value to most of their belongings, even used paper coffee cups or outdated calendars. “They’re thinking about all their stuff the way you think about the contents of your jewelry box,” says Nicholas Maltby, a psychologist who works with compulsive hoarders at the Institute of Living in Hartford. Hoarders are often intelligent and well educated, and they typically think in complex ways. “They may have more creative minds than the rest of us in that they can think of more uses for a possession than we can,” says Frost.
