If you don't laugh at this then I suppose you could sit through a Pink Panther film with a totally straight face!
This song is by the great mystery writer and cryptozoologist Jonathan Downes. The line "I dream about Amphibians from outer space" refers to his band. That was its name!

Deep in the desert, where the Great Satan lies
There's a grouping of strange men with wild, staring eyes
They think they're on a mission, but they haven't got lies
So they fuck off back to Memphis with their bovine wives
We ride accoss the desert to a place with no name
(Choir) We keep on grooving! (X2)
A CIA chief and an internet spammer
I've got dem old Roswell blues again, Mama!
Deep in the desert, credibility dies
As the organizers tell us to expect a surprise
But it's just a loony talking madhouse source of flies
Then they spend their time discussing all the government lies
Let's take some time to work out what we're going to scrap, guys
(Choir) We keep on grooving! (X2)
With the mounts of Colorado with his big forward planner
I've got dem old Roswell blues again, Mama!
Deep in the desert the programme's scheduled to start
With some shit about Majestic from that boring, fat fart
Who has just as about as much moral conviction as a tart
If it wasn't so amusing it would break your heart!
Let's hijack a flying saucer, it can take us to the answer
(Choir) We keep on grooving! (X2)
And we take the pilot hostage with an electric banana
I've got dem old Roswell blues again, Mama!
Deep in the desert, I'm feeling so out of place
As the greasy, fat, mad physicist with a sneer on his face
Describes the infinite minutiae of a very dull case
As I daydream about Amphibians from Outer Space
Let's park the flying saucers on the White House lawn
(Choir) We keep on grooving! (X2)
And hit that evil bastard on the head with a spanner
'Cos I've got dem old Roswell bues again, Mama!
When you get over how funny this song is you can see how it relates to a period in Jon Downes' life when he was briefly a UFOlogist. As the song suggests; he very quickly became dissilusioned by it. I strongly recomed his biolgraphy: "Monster Hunter"
