My daughter, aged 12, came up with an amazing and hilarious insight today. She said: "Dad, female dogs are called bitches aren't they? But what's the word for a male dog." I said. "There is no special word. They're just called dogs; the same way that male cows have a special name: Bulls, but female cows are just called cows."
She replied: "If female dogs are called bitches then we should call male dogs bastards." :D :D :D

Another couple of jokes from my daughter:
What two foods do vampires hate? Garlic bread and steak (stake).
What did the sharp pencil say to the blunt pencil? "Get to the point!"
Who makes the worst sweets in the world? Willy Plonker.

Some more of my daughter's wit:
Did you hear about the man who stole some rhubarb? He ended up in custardy!

I have a few I'd like to add, but they're too crude. Someone may be offended. :D
I'll send them by PM of course.

I think the proper term for a male dog is a mutt.(no bull!)
