have asked this question recently, in reply to a thread, never got an answer so am asking it now...

i've noticed a lot of bible believers on here say that part of the bible (the creation among other parts) are symbolic and not meant to be taken literally, but then quote other parts of the bible which are meant to be taken literally. that doesn't make sense to me. either it's all true or not.

who decides what is symbolic and what isn't?

how can you possibly tell people they should believe in the bible, when you only believe snippits?

not having a go, just wondering

I can only speak for myself but I'm a God believer. The Bible - and everyone has different opinions on it - offers good advice for daily life and personal conduct. As do many other modern books. :)

it's a matter of seeing it with you intuition. and i'm not religious, just "spiritual", so i take a look at more than one source for "guidance".
