President Thabo Mbeki was made a Knight of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem in a colourful investiture ceremony held in St George's Cathedral in Cape Town on Thursday.

Mbeki was admitted to the British royal order of chivalry by the organisation's grand prior, the Duke of Gloucester, a grandson of George the Fifth.

The order, whose sovereign head is Queen Elizabeth II, was first granted official recognition by the British Crown in 1888, a year after the establishment of its well-known St John Ambulance Brigade, though its roots stretch back centuries to the Crusades.

Membership is by invitation only, and those chosen as knights are expected to help focus attention on the betterment of living conditions of poor and disadvantaged communities.

In a media release earlier this week, the Presidency said Mbeki's selection "points to the pivotal role he has played in transforming people's lives both in South Africa and the African continent".

According to the order's website, knights are not entitled to call themselves "Sir", but are "eligible to register coats of arms with heraldic authorities".

The website also states new knights are admitted by the grand prior "when they are touched on the shoulder with a sword and receive their robes and insignia".

Mbeki was spared the sword, however.

The order's CEO in South Africa, Craig Troeberg, told the South African Press Association: "We do not use swords when admitting heads of state."

During the ceremony, asked if he would conduct himself "as a true knight and a person of honour", Mbeki replied: "I will".

He also undertook to obey the charter of the order and take special care of those sick and injured.

Earlier, Mbeki, accompanied by his wife, Zanele -- dressed in an elegant yellow outfit with four large black buttons -- entered the cathedral preceded by four trumpeters.

The couple took their seats in the cathedral's chancel and watched while members of the order, including the grand prior, made a colourful entrance bearing banners and a giant ceremonial sword.

Also present at the ceremony were newly elected Democratic Alliance leader, Helen Zille, and Western Cape Premier Ebrahim Rasool

st george's cathedral in cape town is quite the interesting place, situated on Queen street, it's neighbours are the high court of south africa, the centre for the book, a huge dome shaped building, cecil john rhodes' (the rapist of southern africa) old residence, a building with such negative energy i had to leave when we were working there one day, the old south african cultural history musuem (massive gothic building with a huge granite snake in the foyer), the old british parliment building (with underground tunnel leading from there to the SACHM) and the new parliment buildings.
to add to all of this, the cathedral is located on intersecting ley lines, after all it is sitting at the foot of table mountain, itself a major energy centre.

If you get a chance to rest and meditate at one of the major earth vortexes, do make sure that you listen closely. It is commonly accepted that there is at least one major chakra on each continent. The cardinal seven chakras are:

1st chakra - Mt. Shasta, California
2nd chakra - Lake Titicaca, South America
3rd chakra - Uluru-Katatjuta, Australia
4th chakra - Glastonbury-Shaftesbury, England
5th chakra - Great Pyramid-Mt. of Olives
6th chakra - Kuh-e Malek Siah, Iran
7th chakra - Mt. Kailas, Tibet.
There are also four vortexes that govern the four elements. These are spinning energy portals where rituals done in a circle can open and heal the Earth, the participants and people at large. These four vortexes are sitated at:
Earth - Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa
Water - Lake Rotopounamu, North Island, New Zealand
Air - Great Pyramid, Mount of Olives
Fire - Haleakala Crater, Hawaii.

That is quite amazing, I mean, did this make the mainstream news or tv, how much would the sthafricans have noticed? Wouldn't the black population be asking questions?

Most but probably all of these shakras have some types of monuments on them, that were built:
http://www.rajunasrefuge.com/vortexes.html

1st chakra - Mt. Shasta, California- underground base, military, reptillians,

2nd chakra - Lake Titicaca, South America- don't know, but I would be suspect that that they've built something under ground,

3rd chakra - Uluru-Katatjuta, Australia- According to legend, uluru was created when two snake people faced off against each other, the fiercness of their battle created the rock (sounds to me like the reptilians built it),

4th chakra - Glastonbury-Shaftesbury, England- You can see the monument in the link, some sort of tower,

5th chakra - Great Pyramid-Mt. of Olives, obvious,

6th chakra - Kuh-e Malek Siah, Iran- from the website http://www.iran.org/tib/krt/fanning_ch9.htm:
"The Shoravis were also remarked in Balouchistan, where starting in late 1981 they began work on a network of ground surveillance stations that would be linked to an enormous listening base dug into the side of Kuh-e-Malek-Siah mountain, which dominated the Iranian-Afghan-Pakistani border."

7th chakra - Mt. Kailas, Tibet- looking at the pic in both the links, it looks like a pyramid, but who knows what else's there? http://www.sacredsites.com/asia/tibet/mt_kailash.html

i think that that's precisley the reason these things were built there, you can add the underground naval base in table mountian to that list.

this story was carried in ALL the major newspapers in the country, for the most part in south africa, no one asks questions, unless their salaries are affected.
