911: In Plane Site

Hi good folks,
After watching pretty much all the 911 films floating around the ether, I was particularly intruiged by a short clip I saw in the power hour documentary '911: In plane site.'
It was some news footage taken some distance from the towers with people running toward the camera. What I found intruiging was a woman who shouts: "Those werent American Airlines jets....Those werent American Airlines' (or something like that). The amazing thing is, they are some dstance from the towers and I wasnt aware that at that time anybody knew what kind of planes they were supposed to be. It struck me as a particularly strange thing to be repeating.

I havent seen this clip in any other film (oddly) and was wandering if anybody had read/seen this and if there were any followups on this. eg, ID of the woman or any interviews wth her..

I'd be grateful if anybody could shed any light on this.

The towers have not yet come down and the camera man is at ground level a mile or so away. In the frame is a hot dog stand and the woman in question is wearing black trousers and a pink top with a red/white stripe jumper over her shoulders, just as she walks out of shot, she turns around and says :"That was not american airlines, that was not american airlines'

I agree - it is a strange clip because she was a long way away. I'd be suprised if she could see what it was at that distance.

It is possible that she had heard that an American Airlines flight had been hijacked, but I'm not sure what the news was reporting at that time with regards to hijacks.

Bit of a mystery clip I think.

Okay, I've watched the directors edition cut you posted and the clip is at 44:30 mins..
It is a smaller clip than the 1hr version but still there..check it out

Yes, what intruiges me is that I dont think anybody knew what was happening, hijacking or not. Why would she say that?

Talking points:

You would only know that planes had been hijacked if you were watching TV that morning... it wasnt clear which planes were hijacked until later as I remember. If you were in NY as she was, you would be staring up at the towers in disbelief. Why would you repeat that they werent AA flights...

She's kinda far away and has sunglass on, I think if you showed her a flying pig from the same distance she would say the same thing.

i can remember this from the tv that day she sounds credible
and she had just come from the trade center complex.
