View Full Version : Are Shoe's a health hazard?

Anything is affected by the basic magnestism of the country. Every creature of Earth needs to be in contact with the Earth currents, of course, are the particular degree of magnetism in that area. If a person is denied access to contact with the Earth, his health deteriorates. Recent studies have proved most conclusively that people who live in apartment buildings, and who have little access to a garden or park where there is natural, unpaved ground, suffer from nerve conditions and generally poor health. Everyone knows that the people who live in the country are stronger and in better health than those who live in the city. [T.Lobsang Rampa-Beyond The Tenth 1969]

In certain languages there are stories of giants who went to war and who were on the point of being defeated in battle. The giants then lay down on the ground for a few moments, and jumped to their feet as 'giants refreshed. In other words, they picked up energy from the Earth currents, and by lying down to pick up that energy they pulled a fast one over their enemies!

Everyone who desires good health should be able to get out in the country, and be able to take off their shos and stockings and walk about on the good, cool earth. If people did that there would be less illness, less frustration, less tension.[T.Lobsang Rampa-Beyond The Tenth 1969]

So, are we insulating ourself from good health by wearing rubber soled shoe's, everywhere?

Interesting point. It would seem to make sense that we could be. I am a great believer in a natural environment being good for the soul.

Interesting article, and the basic fact that we all know of:
It feels damn good to take of your shoes and walk on the grass...

It just seems like we're enclosing in a shell and distancing ourselvesfrom the earth. And as we so well know; Mother Earth is jealous and vindictive, at one point or another, she WILL get her vengeance.

The earth is both male and female. SHIM is a mother AND a father.

So what should we designate it to:
She/He is called our Mather, or is it Fother?

Besides that, it is vindictive and jealous... ;)

Un-insulate today, get our feet naked and our feet "grounded".

I really love walking barefooted on the sand at the beach...down near the water's edge. Always makes me feel better, and more 'attuned' to the Earth.
The Ozone works wonders as well. I must make the effort and get to the beach more often this summer.

Had a friend who made a habit of sleeping in a sleeping bag under the stars on her back lawn every summer. Said it made her feel better. :)

I think we can safely assume that it works then :D

Am definetly going to make an effort to walk barefoot and try to stay in tune with the earth more...

But the magnetic currents of the sea are quite different from the magnetic currents of the land, and while it does no harm to go and 'dunk' yourself into the sea, do it for pleasure only, and not with a particular intention of deriving health benefits from sea magnetic currents. You may get some benefit from getting a good salt solution around your pores, and you will get a lot of benefit from the fresh air which usually blows over the sea. [T.Lobsang Rampa-Beyond The Tenth 1969]

I live by the sea and feel refresh from "dunking" and walking along the shore line. But around here, parks are many, yet you have to make an effort to get there.

I love Manchester with a passion. If I don't go for long enough, I start to miss it. I miss working in the centre.

And yet I don't want to live in the centre. I instead want a teraced house in nearsby Ramsbottom, a small town in the hills.

Coincidence?

This is similar to the cooked vs raw debate where people jump to conclusions and ignore the other possibilities. Wearing shoes can protect us from parasites, and injuries, but can also lead to fungal infections and weak susceptible joints.

Gardening and walking are just plain good for you to begin with.

WoW Good stuff there about the earth and not wearing shoes.
I saw a video on youtube how a guy showed the energy that is in the earth by sticking metal poles and wires and reading how much energy he got from it.
Also, why do we wear shoes all the time???
-cause of fungus?
-cause we dont want our feet to absorb germs?
-I guess as long as we walk on pavement we can wear shoes but if we go to the park or so we can go barefoot huh.
Any more info on this, please share :)

This is nonsense. Look at the Chinese and Japanese who are forced into cities and apartements. They look so unhealthy, don't they? I'm not saying that bare feet on top of the Earth doesn't produce any results, but to suggest that wearing shoes means you're unhealthy is a stretch.

That's your opinion, good to see you care.

You must have missed the question(?) mark on the title, right? And that perhaps it may benefit us to get grounded cause rubber soled drived from oil shoes maybe insulating us against natural energy and healing benefits. If you don't want to get grounded, that's fine, but to bring your negative BS into a thread that suggests to get your bare feet grounded with Earth is suspicious, unless your a shoe salesman.

*Don't bother trying to debate me.

Good point. I prefer going shoeless. And I don't like walking on pavement. It's too bland, uneven natural ground is better.

I'm OCD and have a foot phobia so really, I rarely go barefoot.... However, I had athletes foot all throughout high school and I found that when I started wearing sandals and the air circulated to my feet more, it got better.

One of the recommended exercises for an underactive/imbalanced root chakra is to spend some time every day walking barefoot outside.

The rootb chakra corresponds to the earth element.

Always feels good to take my shoes off after a long days work.

But, I have to admit, when walking on the grass, walking on the seashore, or on pavement it's fine to go shoeless, woods walking, desert trekking, much walking, all pretty much require you to have a decent set of footwear. Even feet with a good amount of callouses will be worn down and damaged fairly quickly.

Hmmmm. I touched a live mains connection a couple of weeks ago and the shock would have been a lot nastier if I wasn't wearing rubber-soled trainers.

I think they were rather good for my health on that occasion.

By the way, this is my...

I can't wait for the summer for this reason.
It feels great walking barefoot, just like getting rid of winter clothes.

Well i do know this for a fact, 2 years ago when i went camping for just two days, at the end of the two days i felt indescribably BETTER. Better mood, physically felt better. It's like taking a shit only for your soul. Like medicine for the psyche. And i mean it was profound, i haven't forgot about it.

I would do this if I could. But up here in the cold north (Norway), we usually have a severe winter. And during that time it's not really possible to walk barefoot. I do it in my flat, but then again, it's all metal, iron and electrical wiring, so it wouldn't really make any difference ;)

Could you find a link to that video?

Barefoot Connections sells grounding sheets to ground you as you sleep. Or you could just make your own and connect the sheet to a 6' metal grounding stake that you stick into the Earth. Walking barefoot round your flat peobably wont do much as you're not in contact with the earth. Walking barefoot on a beach or in a field should work though and is a good way to ground yourself. You may even get similar benefits by doing grounding exercises and carrying grounding stones like hematite, obsidian, black tourmaline and tiger iron.

I never thought about it before, but funny you should mention it, the summer just gone ( i live in the countryside) i use to take my shoes off and walk or jog, although because i have never let enough hard skin grow, i was weary of thorns and stones, so could not run properly. well since then, the past months, i have gone through alot of healing, me being quite spiritual, makes me wonder if the earth and my love for it had something to do with it.

Shoes are horrid things, it has snowed 10cm here today, i went outside with my dogs and i noticed how they wer playing in the snow happily not feeling the cold whilst i had 2 pairs of socks on wellies, hat the works... i remember watching a program of an elderly man who goes barefoot walking in winter also...how ill wearing clothes also must make us, so sensitive to weather changes, unlike animals who just accept it

Interesting isn't. Also, dogs try their best to avoid the path of air conditioners in extreme heat.

Animals also have a really nice fur coat.

Exercise, being outside, gtting sun, moving your muscles and especially going out and intereacting with people will do wonders for you.

Speaking as someone who's worked in a office for the past six months, there's a definite difference between working outside and in.

I never thought about how dogs can walk barefoot in extreme cold. Penguins can do the same. They've developed techniques for keeping warm, plus they have a vastly different circulation system. You should check out the New Scientist books as they answer a lot of strange questions like that. Did you know that you can measure the speed of light using just a ruler a bar of chocolate and a microwave?

Makes perfect sense. Wow, shoes are a conspiracy. I believe if we were never introduced to shoes in early life are feet would adapt to hard surfaces. In fact I run every morning barefoot in my room for 40 minutes. I have immense padding, like that of a wild animal.

If we had the consciousness of back in the day, cuts and wounds would heal effectively, our immune systems would be much stronger. Wow shoes are ridiculous. Hobbits climbed Mount Doom barefoot.

Most chiropractors will tell you that high heeled shoes, which are a fashion staple for most women, is really bad for your back and knees. Yet people still continue to wear them.
