The same sort of article ran in the media in the USA the other day. Some states are beginning to take DNA samples of dog poop to fine the owners that left said poop on sidewalk etc.

You know, this really gets me! Ok, I know that its really unpleasant to stand in dogshit, kids attract it like nobodys business but shit is natural, it fits in with the cycle. By collecting it in plastic bags and binning it, doesnt that contribute to landfill?
Anything thats will break down, like apple cores etc...should be allowed to stay put!

That news is really... sick. Think about it. So they'll hire people to go stalking around town hunting for dog shit? Or make the police do it, like they don't have anything better to do (like eat donuts). When they find it, they hurl the pile of poo into a laboratory and analyze whose dog did it?

Yeah, we've evolved so far. The cavemen couldn't have thought of that. The Romans weren't able to do it. Nowhere in known human history has there been this wonderful technology to analyze feces so we know whose ass it came out of. I am so proud to be alive today.

wow, just seen this thread. I have very strong views on dog shit, but this is terrible! DNA tests. I agree with which ever poster said it was to sugest that if we can take the DNA of your dog, we can take it from you. Its a slippery slope down dog shit alley from here on in!

Like I said earlier, this is all (or partly at least) to keep us in fear. This fear mongering is creating new norms for the sheeple to follow and the sheep will then police the sheep more stringently. For the people who dont conform, the message is that they will go to prison (this fear is the equivalent of using the sheepdog on the sheep that dont follow the other sheep).
