Anybody know about this freemasonic style secret society?

My mums mate is a member but I can't find out any information online. My dad said he assumed it was like a freemasons for the lower... sorry, 'working' classes. But he's not an expert on secret societies.

Anybody know where it originates from and the type of things they do?

MERMERMER - just for the sake of it.

When i was rehearsing for a play yearsa ago,we used a large room at the back of a members only club. This was the buffalo room.
It had the usual crap like...pic of the queen, two alters, head dresses, staffs ect.
At the time i wasnt clued up on stuff like i am now,or i would have made there life a misery:)
As far as i know the place is still there. Any history behind it ive got no idea but i will check

My grandad who was a coal miner for 50yrs was in this.( he is dead now) At the funeral 6 of them came and stood around his coffin and gave a little prayer and chant.V moving at the time as I didnt know much about it( still dont). All I know was he was quite high up in the local area, and no before you ask he didnt have lizard eyes, just maybe a bit of crocodile skin( old age I think they call that)
I also think its more of a northern thing but Im not really sure.
Think you could handle the miners monkfish:D

I know someone that was 'a member' a very long time ago (early seventies)...I haven't anything since but it was always known as a poor mans freemasons...

Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes.

My dad and his dad were "buffs". My only memories of it are as a kid. Every year the buffs would take all the kids to Drayton Manor park, and give us spending money. In fact, I've still got a "medal" of some sort somewhere.
