I was just curious, has anyone here been meditating for a long time and has seen positive effects from it? Like, real obvious effects that were definitely a cause of meditation?

Let me know :D

I haven't personally, but have heard many people try it and feel positive
If anyone has any firsthand experience, I'd like to hear of it too...

it isa scientific proven fact that people imue systems do boost because of regular meditation .
also ,
moderated meditation can help concentration levels , can ehanve memory ability and advance the mind completly .
meaning
that there is scientific proof that our minds ( after meditation ) develops greater electrical stimulouse after such sessions .

also , meditation does help stopp eventually
angsiety
fear
agrafobia
paranoia

and other various hold back issues .

yes i meditate , not all the time , but i do , andi say it is well worth the time .

most peple tink that meditation means sitting in the yoga position , saying
ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .
but it doesnt mean tht at all .
meditation is just the "act" of stoppingall forms of thought , thus clearing the mind from all the noise .

is good and i recomend it .
i find it best to do when no one is about and when time isnt a pressing issue .

i have even done it before i sleep . it can be done anywhere really .

its good stuff .
however , some meditators do take it to extreme hights , like an obsession , but , every person to their own i suppose.

i prefure a balance my self .

during meditation i have been able to hear people walking down the street so far , it has taken them nearly 5 mins to get to walk past my house .
sometimes i find that during these times , my senses have grown so tremendously , normal senses can not explain how it helps , it just doesnt explain it in anyway .

also , meditatng with karate , can make you a real thinker , in ways you couldnt imagine if youve never tried it .

like i said though , it has to be a balance .

im not obsessed by it , but do recomend it .

Couldn't it basically be "any" oriental art of fighting?

Also, Karate is very diverse.
Shotokan KArate - this school focuses a lot on the mind, and mainly uses Kata to enhance the minds control over the body.
Kyukushinkai Karate - This school focuses more intently on the actual fighting, but they also have some focus on the mind.
Okinawa-Te Karate - this is basically the style from the movies KArate Kid. It is a school where the focus is almost purely on the mind.

And I do know that many other styles, schools and arts have much of the same diversity...
