On one hand, finally some sense on this subject. On the other, quite strange really. A supermarket removing this substance from all of its own brand drinks then blatantly using it as a marketing tool?
Why after being blanked by the media and corporations for over two decades is this issue only now coming into the mainstream? Are they gonna hold their hands up about the Nazi fluoride ploy now as well?
Maybe I'm just paranoid......

Too many people are aware of Aspartame now. TV commercials in Canada make a song and dance about the lack of Aspartame in their products.

I think it's a good thing that they are finally taking some action on it, about bloody time IMO!! It's good to see that so many people are finally becoming aware of it, my son has been telling his mates about it for a while now :) Although there's still lots of other hidden crap that we're being bombarded with, but it's a start I suppose. Let's hope it leads onto other stuff too eh...:)

I dont touch Asparatame .... but your right there are probebely other things we are eating thats bad for us that we dont know about....
but to me its just a case of being aware... if you know somthing is bad for your body then you should not eat it.... and that does not mean... "oh i will cut down" it means, its not food, and you are not meant to eat it.... so have some self respect and dont put it in your body.

It's great that this is being highlighted - but yes I think you're just being a bit paranoid too. This link seems to be to user submitted ideas about 'trying something new today'. I doubt it's got the Sainsbury's seal of approval and if it gathers momentum will probably get removed.
So - I guess the idea here is to go check it and give it a 5 star rating and send it to your friends to do the same!

I don't anymore either, but the 'other' stuff is everywhere & all disguised with different names to hide it. MSG is another biggy, it's in shitloads of stuff under all different guises
Yeah know what you're saying, but I'm not quite that strict with myself yet... still enjoy a few things now & then that are probably classed as 'bad' for me, but a little in moderation & all that eh... I just tell myself that it's not bad for me but good, hehe!! :) ;)

Sainsburys actually have removed aspartame from ALL of their own products.

big up for Sainsburys.
if i can i only shop there. i've accidently noticed last year one of their tv ads saying their cakes contain no "Hydrongenated Fats or Oils" meaning, no MSG.
however, i used to shop at Iceland, and they promise alot of "no artificial flavours, hydrogenated fats etc, etc" i.e no MSG.
TOTAL FRAUD. Iceland's products do contain MSG. it just goes under the names of "Natural Flavourings", or, espacially, "Yeast Extract", iow, MSG.
it's important to keep an eye on what supermarkets try to fool us with...
