After announcing that its bizarre new game controller was entering mass production a couple of weeks ago, OCZ has now revealed that the Neural Impulse Actuator (NIA) is now available for pre-order in the UK for just £99.

Great all we need now is the VR goggles and the crotch mounted vibration pack and we're sorted.

That it is possible is old news by now, it was a few years ago I heard about the first computer controlled with the mind. There are several different versions now. Also they have made prostetics controlled by the mind at DARPA. Some of them controlled by muscles in other parts of the body.
What I like the most about these inventions is the fact that it proves telepathy on a scientific basis, although I am sure that skeptics still wouldnt agree on that.
There was also an interesting experiment with a monkey controlling a robot monkey with its mind. The real monkey was in the US the biological one was in Japan I think it was. The real monkey could see the robot one on a monitor and after a while it learned to control the robot monkey and make it move, without making the same moves itself. So at first the robot monkey just did whatever the real monkey did.
I guess a console with this for a controller would leave the Wii wanting. Then again, the Wii might just get a new kind of controller with this function. It seems that the next generation of consoles are likely to get this kind of controller. Will probably be 4-6 years before the next gen consoles though, they still need to make profit on the current one.
