you will get used to it soon, all you need is time. at least that's how it is with me.

also, you can engage yourself with some activities: play sports, go for arts/music events, etc. this site helps too i guess :)

I used to work away on gas land pipelines. noleave cycle, just take the odd long weekend when it becomes too unbearable to away from my family any longer. comming home was euphoric, the night before going back and going back was hell.
My gal and I decided that we'd both rather that I was at home with her and my (then) child (got 3 now) and on the dole than being away all the time and having money. It tought us that money has no value ..... only love has value.... Each new job/contract I get now, I stipulate that I will not under any circumstances work away from home... and if that's a problem then I will not take the job.
I have no answers on how to cope ...... lot's of contact (email, mobile microwave brain cooker, phone etc ....). we just couldn't do it and so we won't even try again. Some can do it some can't.

:( My fiance is working in Iraq and won't be home for 8 months. He was just home in the beginning of August. Also, I spent a few weeks working in London back in 2006 and it sucked big time! Best thing to do is keep in touch at least once a week. My fiance gets a package or card at least once a week.

I was an exchange student for a year in Japan a couple of years ago. Now I'm staying a year in Hong Kong. I cope fairly well with being away from family and friends. I guess I'm just that way that I don't need the "stability" of having the same people around me all the time. It's fun to be with my friends back in Finland when I see them, but I have no need to be with them. I make new friends when I go to new places, but I still stay in contact with the old ones thanks to the miracles of internet.

When my studies end here I really hope I find some other excuse to travel. I have no need to settle down in any one place. I guess you could call me a nomad.

G'Day cheeney 1,

It's hard to be away from the ones you love but it's also an opportunity to really be with your own thought's and to take stock of your life.

I've had children in my life for the last 20 years:) and a wife or 2 to fill up that time.

Mrs boots has been with me for the last 8 years and I love her and enjoy her being around, but I sure enjoy it when she goes over to her parents for a week, it give me time to be with myself. It's just with you, it has been a long time./

Don't worry it's only time.

In the mean time smoke some of that WA weed:p, helps you to forget;):)

Man that is so sad to hear, it is terrible been away from them and especially in a town full of fuckwits, you get that, every where but it seems they are attracted to K,

When will they be over?

Close down a bit, dont open your heart to these cock suckers, their not worth it.

Maybe you are not in the right place yet but it will happen, takes a bit of experience to get where you want to be.

GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND.

I am extremely independent and spend much of my free time in solitude anyway; I like it like that. So much so that I have to remind myself to visit family and friends so that they don't take my absence personally :)
