He is known for being in favour of organic farming and against GMO food and promotes organic food vigourously, but surely he gets told to promote GMO food by the people who control him.
Maybe he is secretly trying to save us all.
edit : just in the news today that he says big businesses can save the rainforests

Prince charles i would bet is a very torn person i doubt he is very aware of the world around him and not to mention that the powers that be aren't all in agreement either. Order out of chaos...
you know though in the present status of things it pretty much is up to big buissness to save the rainforest since they are the ones destroying it. Not trying to defend them or anything but it is pretty much so.

They don't announce what they secretly do. They announce what they secretly dont.

Prince Phillip is (or was) the patron of the World Wildlife Fund wasn't he? And look at what goes on there
That they present themselves as making a moral stand on an issue in public means nothing. Behind closed doors they probably laugh at the gullibility of people who are deceived by a simple masquerade like that.
As David Davis did, by setting himself up as the expert on Big Brother by pretending to oppose it, Prince Charles' making a stand against GM is probably doing the same thing on some level.

I think because Prince Charles is quite an unpopular person in the UK, he is being set-up as the man against Genetically Modified foods, so we therefore go against him and with the shit dog turd foods. He will save the good food for himself and family. You think the royals eat the shit we do? No way.

It's one of Prince Charle's 'quirks' to be for and against things.
His image in the media makes him look like he's frustrated because he'd like to have more political clout.
Wasn't there some intelligence op to lower the public's view of the Royals so that he could marry Camilla without an outcry?
The Queen mum brought in the smiling benign royal image, then it was brought down to a 'they're only human' level so that they can do things which were supposedly 'beneath them'
I think it's good to think about Brian Blessed in the first Blackadder series to get more of the full range of the Royalty's styles over the years
