What's the worst film you've ever seen? Several spring to my mind, in no particular order of squalor:

Independance Day
Stargate
Paper Mask
Crash! (the one about these people who get sexual kicks out of road traffic accidents)
Hawke's Revenge (A little-known martial arts film, and obscurity has never been more richly deserved! You can actually see the join where the fake muscles and six-pack have been glued to the hero's chest!)

The Rambo trilogy: Actually part 1 was OK, Part 3 was pretty bad. But Part 2, the most hyped of all, was dire. The only thing that made it bearable was that the propaganda is so blatent that even a Baywatch fan could see through it!

' The Hulk ' - reaaaallly dullllll.
' Last of the Mohicans ' - nice scenery and music , found the film boring.
' Starship Troopers 2 ' - lets take all the wit , irony and excitement out. of the first film eh ? The worst sequel ever.
' Dawn of the Dead ' - the new version sucked .
' Solitaire for 2 ' - load of old rubbish.

I'm a film buff, but I've always found it difficult to rank non-interests. Once something passes the point of suck, it's pointless to try to arrange it around in descending orders of suck.

I also find I have a huge love for a lot of horrible movies, simply for the train wreck factor.

Every film doesn't have to define itself as a moral vehicle, you know. The Departed was an exceptionally directed crime drama.

Watch the original (Infernal Affairs) for a more symbolic, allegorical approach that Scorsese largely eliminated from his version. It's also far superior to the remake.

i agree with you about art as a moral vehicle; imo, it is more a mirror held up to human nature, which scorsese is normally quite adept at.

Yes, I do know. I work in the film/TV business. But, art is generally expected to have purpose. One generally expects to get something from a work of art. What is the purpose of this film?

The Departed was an exceptionally directed crime drama.

I agree that the direction and acting were excellent and I have enjoyed many of Scorcese's films. That's not my objection.

I'll do that -- thanks.

I'd just like to point out that we are inundated with loads of hype about which films are great, which directors are geniuses, which actors are the best, etc., etc. I often don't buy it. Scorcese is one of those who are almost automatically considered to be a genius and everything they do is revered even if it's really shit. I do love some of his films but when he creates shit, he creates shit, in my opinion.

I totally agree with this. That's why I hate a lot of the "fan" culture, despite being a part of it in many respects. Absolutely no one should be put on a pedestal or get a "free pass" because of their (perceived) reputation. This applies to pretty much everything, not just the entertainment industry.

Speaking of the fanboy community, Army of Darkness is basically a fan movie. It's aimed solely at the Campbell/Evil Dead camp and it's like one big inside joke.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d9/SaloDVDCover.jpg

Salo of the 120 Days of Sodom

The controversy:
Controversy over the film exists to this day, with many praising the film for its fearlessness and willingness to contemplate the unthinkable, while others condemn it roundly for being little more than a pretentious exploitation movie.

The film has been banned in several countries due to its graphic portrayals of rape, torture and murder—mainly that of people suspected to be younger than 18 years of age. Many questions about the film's legality have been raised—namely, whether or not the actors and actresses that participated in the (admittedly simulated) sexual or violent acts in the film were of the age of consent.

Since Salò deals with homosexual activity, some criticism stemmed from the distaste of some for what it considers homosexual perversity.

Some critics have argued that Salò embodies Pasolini’s lust for young boys to be willing participants in sexual acts. But mostly Salò is about uniting all of Pasolini’s ideas involving sex, religion, and politics into a uniquely cohesive whole; the four libertines represent a monstrous, apolitical power that consumes and degrades all that it touches.

The fact that Salò was set in a Nazi-Fascist period makes many of the sadomasochistic aspects of the film even harder to bear than in the original novel. This setting and the emphasis on perverse consumption connects the brutality of Fascism to what Pasolini saw as the brutalizing effects of the commodification of sexuality under late capitalism.

It was banned in Australia in 1976, unbanned in 1993 and rebanned in 1998. In 1994, an undercover police officer in Cincinnati, OH, rented the film at a local gay bookstore, then arrested the proprietors for pandering. A large group of artists, including Martin Scorsese and Alec Baldwin, and scholars signed onto a brief arguing the film's artistic merits. Eventually, the case was thrown out on a technicality.

For a time the film was unavailable in many countries, although it is now available uncut on DVD in the United Kingdom, France, Finland, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Italy.

Hmmm,

There are some interesting movies which people pass of as shit on this forum. I'm surprised films such as V for Vendetta, Cloverfield, Superbad and Fight Club were mentioned. Are people judging their films of hate on morals or simply entertainment?

The following films aren't necessarily bad but I turned them off because I got bored of them:

Night Watch,
Gladiator,
Brazil,
The Fog.

I have a huge list but can't remember off the top of my head.

Anyway, back to a comment someone made on films used to condition the people and how directors are as bad as criminals...

I'm a student film-maker, I'm currently studying and a lot goes in to films that the untrained eye wouldn't see. Yes there are some blatant conditioning films out there but films can also be used as a warning, as a form of therapy for some film-makers or simply entertainment be it emotional, visual etc...

For example, if I wanted to make a film about the illuminati and the state of the world to day, the chances are a blatant attempt of telling that story probably wouldn't get made by the big studios, therefore you could tell the same story in a symbolic way, which sends out the same message but disguised. That way people who are good at reading film would potentially see the symbolic meaning and think twice. Batman Begins could be interpreted as such a piece of work...

Wow, scrolling through this thread I found some of my favorites.
Lord of the rings(!?), Fight Club, The Departed, V for Vendetta, Gladiator. Well I guess when you focus more on spotting NWO conditioning than watching the movie, the enjoyment factor dissapears...

Anyway, some horrible movies I've seen are Starship Troopers 2 (AWFUL plot, stayed in the same place the entire movie. Loved the first one though.), Santa with Muscles (Extremely bad, but kinda entertaining because of it.), Super Mario Bros.(Huge dissapointment as a child.).

fight club is the biggest load of self indulgent propoganda shit........however v for vendetta is awesome, this film was held back in britain coincidentally when the 7/7 false flag op occurred, seems the planners had a little foresight hmmmm?! then the critics panned it as much as possible. i recommend network to everyone its a great film. on and baron munchausen fucking classic!

Both V for Vendetta and Fight Club are films designed to create a fertile environment for future false flag terrorism leading to martial law.

Don't trust anyone. Especially not Brad Pit.

Aaah, for once we agree! :D

Meet Joe Black must be the most horribly dull movie in existence!

It is partly filmed at a Legionaires of Christ school in Rhode Island. That's kind of like Opus Dei, but women are allowed in the order.

I really do not like movies that basically "fluff"

Youngblood
Top Gun
Blue Velvet
1492 (Now I know that my reason for not liking this movie is that it is a lie)
Backdraft
Ragtime (3 hours of pure boredom)

I'm not really interested anything with Tom Cruise or Mel Gibson.

United 93 (the heros fighting the muslims....paaaalease).
An inconvenient truth....more like an inconvenient waste of my time watching complete fucking bullshit.
Pearl harbour.
ALL those american films about teenagers wanting to 'get laid.'
Anything with Will (...you please fuck off) Smith.
Anything with Ja Ja Binks in it.
ALL disaster films.

Basically, pretty much ALL films from hollywood.....but the all time pile of poo must be:

Black Hawk Down - portraying those hero soldiers in the middle east......unreal.

I pretty much hate any "spoof" movie ie, Epic movie, scary movie ... all shit, i can literally sit through all of em and not crack a smile

and any yanky bullshit movie ... you know the ones ... 5 guys vs like 200 with guns that never seem to run out of bullets .. and why are the bad guys geting hired if they cant bloody do the basics like shoot a gun ... i hate that crap lol

im a manager in a well know video store ... i could write a wall of text but ill leave it there ( funny how everyone still seems to call em video stores when the last time i seen a video was years ago hehe)

And the french movie 'Base Moi' or 'Fuck Me' (in english) is literally disturbing

Alike, but twice as disturbing is the French "Irreversible", the only film in the history of my life I had to watch from behind my fingers....the visuals and audio are purposfully nauseating and the rape scene is basically one of the most disturbing scenes in any film ever. Be warned this film is 'orrible.

On a lighter note have you guys ever seen Indian action and sci-fi films?

Worst Movie Scenes Ever! - YouTube

Haaahaha, did you see the horse one?! Seriously. We thought Arnie and Sly were rediculous, the Indian action stars make them look like pussy ass girlie men.

Should be brought up for ripping-off and invoking hundreds of films all at once.
