how safe is it to travel the net, places like my space and others? i enjoy the contact one can have with others around the world, but lately i have been thinking if having a penpal, would not be better, as at times i get thinking about how much spam, and junk is found on the net!

anyone got any experiences they would like to share? i appreciate, anything...

Rule number 1: NEVER give your email address to anybody or website that you dont trust

Rule number 2: dont download _free_ stuff, unless you trust it (so if your freind says its fine etc)

apart from that the internet is a safe place to be, and you can meet a load of people by using it :D

So have fun.

I use a lazy approach which means that I only download software from places I know I can trust and I only pay with credit card on sites that I trust enough. It's also important to make sure that the sites visited really are the real sites and not a fake copy.

Funny you say that...i was only thinking yesterday how no-one really seems to write letters anymore- i mean a lot of letters these days are formal anyway and printed on the computer but how many of us actually correspond through writing with a pen and paper - i know i don't, im always emailing and chatting on msn and on the phone, text etc etc!!

As for the spam etc etc- im already involved now- my name and email etc is all over the web circuit- im always looking at stuff that could be considered dodgy like conspiracy stuff, but i figure im not doing anything wrong so why not? i just use the net with the knowledge that its a possibility that someone could read this, dont write anything you dont want anyone else to read!! Otherwise i suggest a pen and paper is the way to go!!;) :)
