Have anyone heard of

http://www.systemaspetsnaz.com/

I trained in this system for a number of years. The main instructors are all ex special forces spetsnaz and ex KGB.
I've also trained with the founder and spent time in Moscow.
A friend recently said its abit strange these guys are doing training courses for british soldiers and the general public.
Also in Russia I sensed something was not right .

Ive seen a couple of their training videos..

I got a question, Do you know anything about them using psychic energy in combination with their martial arts?

Russian Systema is excellent, really a formless martial arts form; each and every aspect of it designed to bring out the unique warrior in the man.

Worth investigating and pursuing, certainly...:)

When I was in Russia we were told its more psychology than psychic energy.
But in the early stages of systema in this country psychic energy was all ways talked about. In vladimirs book {russian systema guide} He talks about cold water dowsing. He says you must use a bucket of cold water morning and last thing at night to clean negative energy away.
Also Mikhile ryabko {founder} said one of the most important meditations in systema is pulse meditation.
You feel the pulse in your wrists while lying down then go through the whole body sensing the pulses in all areas. Then unite all the pulses together so the whole body is one pulse vibrating.

Its a good system to study.I sort of cut myself off from the organisation due to my own negative emotions. In a way I should of stayed with systema because it was the most relaxing time of my life.

I had a friend (well still have I think) who lived in Goole and was being trained this style.. I also raised the same queries with him about UK training classes. I'm not sure if he's still doing it, but he is still OK as I saw him at David Icke hull talk.
I would still like to know why the training.. planting something?, finding information (my friend is very open minded and quite knowledgeable)?.. or maybe future sympathizer (sp?) for future events.

The thing with systema you do alot of very slow sensitivity drills. Where as I was all ways in to the hard stuff. Its only after cutting myself off from systema that I seen the bigger picture. After leaving systema I set my own self defence group up and systema really helped me .I had judo guys going full speed trying to take me to the ground and some of the psychological tricks I learnt in systema came in really handy like just putting your hand up to the opponants eyes when he rushes in all ways stopped them in their tracks. When I went away from the soft drills and just focused on the hard sparring I became stressed, aggressive, angry.

What a load of Bullshida,
http://www.bullshido.net/modules.php?name=Reviews&file=viewarticle&id=87

Before some of the idiots on here start flaming me, do 3-4 years in Aikido (what this 'systema' discipline is closely based on). Specifically understand: tai sabaki (general body movement, force redirection) and taninzudori (multiple attackers). There are other disciplines which these mercs have robbed too... and not just from Aikido.

I have watched several of these videos. They are widely available on torrent sites. In each video, it's the usual script, where they get a load of (paying) people from different parts of the world to 'admire' and 'learn' this Russian 'martial arts system'.

I particulary liked the episode where the fat russian general/commander or whatever, hit the fat American Pig (Police Occifer) with his 'special' punch and managed to ground him in one shot which was less than an inch from his fat chest... something even Bruce Lee would have raised an eyebrow to.

Problem with most military/police 'self-defence' training is that they take a couple of moves from most disciplines and implement them in their training schools to stop the most common offensive manoeuvres. These defensive manoeuvres are actually very effective because most people don't know how to fight.

Even worse, you get fuckwits like this idiot teaching the Police how to 'defend' themselves: Marc 'Animal' McYoung. Kudos to his skills, but please don't train pigs and monkeys how to do tricks.

I had the suspition it was nothing but a coctail of ripped off moves and staged events on video, they ripped off alot of eastern stuff, there is no russian fighting system or philosophy, as there never really was slavic civilization as such(imore like multiple tribes that span from poland to russian territories etc), they haven't developed anything of the sort.

It's a bit of patriotic nonsense that russians have been led into, like white americans who think they speak "american language" and have "american culture"

These "fighting systems" are alot like various food additives, they take all the basic things and mix them in different doses and call it a "new formula"

Systema is a broad term for Russian martial arts which includes the likes of Sambo and other arts. It's real, not Bullshido, and is used by Russian Special Forces - the spetsnatz...

a friend was telling me about this systema...personally I think the solution to self defence is to remove the stuff inside ones own being that attracts the self defence scenario in the first place....until the next mouthey c..t comes along of course...I was actually interested to go along and see...but never got around to it.....is systema simlair to that israeli form called krav maga?
perhaps whena practioner in any part of the world meditates with dedication and heartfelt sincerity...then I would say that naturally the inner personal discovery of the laws of existence and or the tao are the same regardless of nationality and religion etc....chi is just chi basically...and chi doesn't ask where youre from...only the discerning grey matter will tend to do so....
therefore nobody can steal anything from anybody

"Sambo" in Japanese is a 'dirty' term. It literally refers to the USSR (now Russia) trying to employ Japanese martial arts techniques to suit their own agenda... i.e. 'Russian Special Services' and all the other jobsworths.

Edit: Oooh, previous post gone. Something about 'bushido', I believe.

Never mind.

Edit2: Wish people would leave their posts (no matter how full of **** they are)

Bad manners... BTW, I've saved the previous comment. Just have the decency not to publish it.

you take life too seriously mr. expert.. so you need others to give you strength....
As a Saturday night piss head I was attempting a play on words with thinking the crappy style of Bullshido was meant to be Bushido.. and possibly added the extra bull of a style some claim is favoured called Shito-ryu.. so all in all these styles aren't anything more that BullShit.. it didn't work so was deleted (I never saw a post after it though.. it was the last one I made)..

Not many martial artist I know of make wishes.. more use the energy they have.

don't get angry..I'll get really scared of your 'death touch'...oooooh

I love the "Bad Manners" reversed "I am a decent person" statement..lol... bit of mind trickery on the NLP level there

First of every style has bits similar to other style .Befor I took up systema I had 18yrs of jujitsu ,boxing, wrestling, thia boxing behind me.
What I like to do is absorb what is useful for me and then move on. I found alot of very good training within systema.Systema taught me to be more relaxed when i'm boxing wrestling etc.
The fat russian you refer to is Mikhail Ryabko.I've seen him do these soft puches and send people into spasms.I've even been to his house in Moscow and yes its true what they say about russians they do love their vodka.
You mention bullshido I've been with a few systema guys few years ago.None of us got submitted we all came out on top.
Peace

How rude...:(

Well, all martial arts share common lineages, so it's no surprise there are connexions.

You sound pretty cocksure, calling me an idiot and all, how macho! I don't want to deprive you of your Hard-On, certainly it is clear you know all there is to know about the Martial arts because, like, you're so HARD! You're a Hard-Man! Wow...I bet the girls love you. :) Clearly you've mastered the spiritually refined aspects of martial arts learning!

But in this world, the cocksure are stupid and the intelligent full of doubt, so I'll reserve the right to be as doubtful of your claims as you are of mine. ;)

Bye now.

PS; If you feel so strongly about this issue and want to fight about it, I'm free anytime - PM me for my address.

best,
Z1

To me martial arts is about fighting your own demons fears etc.
I've been involved in the arts for the last 25yrs.
Most of the guys I train with and we do alot of heavy sparring.
But away from training we are polite, friendly etc.
I would sooner talk than get in to a fight and I worked as a doorman for 6yrs.
Instead of fighting each other we need to fight our negative emotions and free ourselves.
Infinite love is the only truth everything else is illusion
Peace :)

Bullshido.com is full of ego maniacs and people who have never been in a life or death fight. Bunch of what we call Keyboard Warriors. Do you really think the Spetznats would employ a useless system? Do you think that a mixture of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are useful in a warzone?

I remember I may have also mentioned about Shotokan but as I was more spiritual and not as much into combat some say Shotokia as there is argument as to the fact they are not karate style at all.. more a philosophy
