Some people may get the impression that the leadership of U S political parties are nothing but white collar crime syndicates!


Andrew McCain, son of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, joined Silver State's board in February but resigned for unspecified personal reasons in late July.

In his early days as a freshman senator, McCain was known for accepting contributions from Charles Keating Jr., flying to the banker's home in the Bahamas on company planes and taking up Keating's cause with U.S. financial regulators as they investigated him.

Neil Bush was a member of the board of directors of Denver-based Silverado Savings and Loan during the 1980s' larger Savings and Loan crisis. As his father was Vice President of the United States, his role in Silverado's failure was a focal point of publicity. According to a piece in Salon, Silverado's collapse cost taxpayers $1 billion.
