I just thought I'd remind you that there are ways of staying anonymous(or at least harder to trace) when browsing the web.

You're giving away a lot of information every time you're browsing - check your exposure here:

Then I suggest you read and follow these instructions:

Of course using these protections slows down your browsing, but at times that you really want to stay "stealth" its irrelevant, isn't it?

I hear you, the spooks can get to you if they REALLY want, but lets not make it too easy for them!

Hi,

I came across a linux distribution (knoppix) with Firefox+TOR preinstalled.
If anyone has experience with this I'd like to hear about it.
Google (or scroogle) TOR (The Onion Router) for more info.
As far as I understand much depends on how your system is configured.
It's no magic wand.

tor is a good idea but it is obvious that you are using it, plus it has backdoors that can be accessed, better off using proxies such as safeproxy.org dedicated to anonymity.

I tested "tor" few years ago for the first time and recently I installed it again - easy to setup, but browsing websites via
Tor is a nightmare, folks..!
Maybe it's because my [bt] connection [less than 1mb instead 4, it's what bt promised in my area] or too few ppl use Tor.
Now I only share part of my broadband with other users, while staying in "open daylight".

I could imagine though, when each of us here [25 000 members worldwide?] connect to Tor tomorrow - the network will improve drastically!
So, c'mon folks - share few bites of your prceless broadband for the higher good! ;]

tor is a good idea but it is obvious that you are using it, plus it has backdoors that can be accessed, better off using proxies such as safeproxy.org dedicated to anonymity.
