Been listening to some of my old Bob Marley discs tonight and just thought it would be nice to make my first post here some what of a tribute to the great man man himself.

Way to go Bob.

And here follows the words to one of his awesome songs...quite apt for the David Icke forum i thought. Bob knew his stuff...

BABYLON SYSTEM
We refuse to be
What you wanted us to be;
We are what we are:
That's the way (way) it's going to be. You don't know!
You can't educate I
For no equal opportunity:
(Talkin' 'bout my freedom) Talkin' 'bout my freedom,
People freedom (freedom) and liberty!
Yeah, we've been trodding on the winepress much too long:
Rebel, rebel!
Yes, we've been trodding on the winepress much too long:
Rebel, rebel!

Babylon system is the vampire, yea! (vampire)
Suckin' the children day by day, yeah!
Me say: de Babylon system is the vampire, falling empire,
Suckin' the blood of the sufferers, yea-ea-ea-ea-e-ah!
Building church and university, wo-o-ooh, yeah! -
Deceiving the people continually, yea-ea!
Me say them graduatin' thieves and murderers;
Look out now: they suckin' the blood of the sufferers (sufferers).
Yea-ea-ea! (sufferers)

Tell the children the truth;
Tell the children the truth;
Tell the children the truth right now!
Come on and tell the children the truth;
Tell the children the truth;
Tell the children the truth;
Tell the children the truth;
Come on and tell the children the truth.

'Cause - 'cause we've been trodding on ya winepress much too long:
Rebel, rebel!
And we've been taken for granted much too long:
Rebel, rebel now!

(Trodding on the winepress) Trodding on the winepress (rebel):
got to rebel, y'all (rebel)!
We've been trodding on the winepress much too long - ye-e-ah! (rebel)
Yea-e-ah! (rebel) Yeah! Yeah!

From the very day we left the shores (trodding on the winepress)
Of our Father's land (rebel),
We've been trampled on (rebel),
Oh now! (we've been oppressed, yeah!) Lord, Lord, go to ...

He only did one good song.........Get up Stand Up, he has a terrible voice and bangs on about being higher than lion in zion. LOL each to their own, theres no accounting for musical tastes. :D

Maybe i'm paranoid but rastafarianism isn't all love and light you know. Ja rastafari, ja is an old word for god or creator. Wonder which one.????/

The Lion of Juda who was Haili Salassi( probably spelt it wrong) was seen as the reicarnation of Jesus Christ to the rastafarians.

Although have smoked a few mean reefers with some rastar men, they got that bit right. :D

Hey Eternal, lighten up on Bob man... go have a smoke & chill, hehe :) :p

Just listening to Three Little Birds... one of my favs... "Three little birds pitched by my doorstep, singing sweet songs of melodies pure & true, saying this is my message to you, singing don't worry about a thing, cos every little thing's gonna be alright..." ahhh love it!!:)

Buffalo soldier and a few others can't think of titles at the moment, Bob got a bit overplayed over the years, guess the magic wore off after hearing the songs ten thousand times, you know where ever you went for a smoke Bob's music would end up on sooner or later.

Songs of freedom leant the guitar parts, could never get the Bob voice to match though :D

One love is my favorite bob tune, I usually substitute the "lord" bit for life and the father of creations becomes the power of creation. That fits better in my mind, but although there are parallels between rastafari and other religions I would say that rastas are much more mellow in their beliefs, does anyone know how the rasta religion began, I mean they must have done something else before christianity and Haile Selassie and all that crock?

One Love! One Heart!
Let's get together and feel all right.
Hear the children cryin' (One Love!);
Hear the children cryin' (One Heart!),
Sayin': give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right;
Sayin': let's get together and feel all right. Wo wo-wo wo-wo!

Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (One Love!);
There is one question I'd really love to ask (One Heart!):
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner,
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own beliefs?

One Love! What about the one heart? One Heart!
What about - ? Let's get together and feel all right
As it was in the beginning (One Love!);
So shall it be in the end (One Heart!),
All right!
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right;
Let's get together and feel all right.
One more thing!

Let's get together to fight this Holy Armagiddyon (One Love!),
So when the Man comes there will be no, no doom (One Song!).
Have pity on those whose chances grows t'inner;
There ain't no hiding place from the Father of Creation.

Sayin': One Love! What about the One Heart? (One Heart!)
What about the - ? Let's get together and feel all right.
I'm pleadin' to mankind! (One Love!);
Oh, Lord! (One Heart) Wo-ooh!

Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right;
Let's get together and feel all right.
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right;
Let's get together and feel all right.
