Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

My dad said he took acid in the 70's and he was in a pub and everyone turned intoa lizard and looked like the place was up to his chest in beer! :D He also said rod stewart was on the radio and everyone turned into rod stewart, dunno whats scarier! lol

o00o0oo i was just thinkin about putting up a thread similar to this......anywho some films/shows and games that come to mind are

Futurama - in it i cant remember whom but one of the characters says "is the space pope reptilian"

G I JOE/ Action force (soon to be realeasing a live action film)- The cobra and cobra-la in the old cartoons.... lol check out the action force/g i joe cartoon movie, the storyline is about a reptilian race that once existed on earth but had to go underground due the ice age and man eventually evolved,once the reptilian race come out the see that man has technology so they decide to take over the world get the technology and change man into their races.

Mummy 3 - "return of the dragon king"

Xtro- old school b-movie trilogy about a reptilian race involved with the govt etc

Godzilla- big bloody repltile kickin big monster booty

big trouble in lil china - bad guy who wants to remain young and can shapeshift.

Flash Gordon - film is filled scene to scene with mason symbology,and have little reptilian creatures running around,in particular a scene where guy is being brainwashed and is shown images of hitler and an owl then flashes churchill and roosevelt looking at each other then repeatedly flashes 2 reptiles looking at each other in the same pose- MUST SEE

MOONWALKER- during Jacksons song "leave me alone" he is going down an isle where reptiles are in business suits surrounded with money.-think about it "leave me alone"

3X3 Eyes - manga about a race with the "third eye" who can shape shift and do occult rituals with reptile like beings/dragons.and say that they were the original beings on earth.

legend of the four kings - manga about four brothers that shapeshift into dragon and are wanted by the military.

donkey kong - cartoon/game where DK fights lizard/monsters

X-files - one episode mentions a reptilian rave that is running the world.

conan movies+cartoons - based on a sumerian warrior king whose enemies are shapeshifting lizards and snakes that do occult rituals and sacrifices etc.lol and acted by Arnold schwarzenagger!! hhhmmmm

Mighty max - has a few episodes where the bad guy are reptile like beings.

Gargoyles - cartoon about reptile like gargoyles that protect new york.

Thunder cats - good few episodes have reptile bad guys that shapeshift etc

Space Jam - alien invaders who slightly resemble reptiles

stargate series - many of the beings are reptiloids

babylon 5 - has a few episodes with reptile beings in them

Dragon wars - recent movie about a good an evil dragons who take the form of humans. in the end they become "one" and reunite existence.

Dragon ball z - many characters resemble reptile like beings etc

10'000 B.C. - tho u do not see reptilians primarily its about origianl humans being taken a slaves for a race that is said to come from the stars or a sunken island.the leader of these beings is albino white and theres a scene where they are talkin wearing a veil and it looks like they have scales.

apocalypto - occult mayans who wear lizard head dresses

reptilian - a movie about archeologists who discover a chamber underground ground with the remains of a reptilian being 50 times the size of a t-rex who comes to life and aims to destroy the world.

Voltron - old school anime about a giant robot being that fights monsters that are created by a reptilian race who want to control the world.

star trek enterprise series - season finale about the enterprise crew trying to stop the Xindi reptilians from destroying earth

Dark Crystal - from the maker of the labyrinth its about a good and evil reptile races they were seperated , in the end they reform as "ONE" and bring balance to their world.

Dinotopia - with talking dinosaurs in it.

galaxy quest - a reptilian race lead by sarris (sirius?) come to earth to destroy it and are stopped by sci-fi fictional film stars

Passion of christ - there is a scene which was deliberatly put in by mel gidson that does not exist in the bible it is the scene where he is lashed 32 times (in the bible its 38 times - numerology of 32) also there is a scene with the devil (acted by a female) who is holding a reptilian albino child yet this does not happen in the bible(reference to the anti christ) also throughout movie jesus is shown with a damage eye (anti christ symbolism)

lord of the rings - orcs?

pokemon - their new enemies are called the new world order and that mewtwo character looks pretty suspicious

swamp thing - looks pretty reptilian to me

creature from the black lagoon - reptilian /fish like being

rosemarys baby - the devil in the ritual scene is reptilian

just to name a few :p

also have you noticed that the majority of film titles begin with the letter "s" ?. S representing the serpent and the phonetic sound of it is highly hypnoti.

fare enough theres alot of films but ya gotta check out alot of fantasy books also that mention reptilian beings or advanced races coming to earth and messing with human genetics ,one book in particular is called "the many colored lands" trilogy by julian may which is about a race called the TANU (ANU?) who take over the human race this book is based long ago in the past and eventually moves to modern times where they rule the elite by secret societies this book is wriiten in the early 80s, tis also a very good book to read.
I highly suggest "Decipher" by stel pavlou. very cool book that touches on some really interesting subjects.

sorry that i got no pictures to go with this tho it be great to see some. totally suggest checkin out some of these movies tho with "open eyes" , kinda feels like they been preparing us for the coming of something.

Dreamscape- 1984
A Psychic can enter the dreams of others and alter the course of the dream, gets embroiled in a political plot to kill the US president.

The villain in the movie is able to shape-shift into the nightmarish 'Snake man' character.

Conan the Barbarian- 1982

The governator takes on James Earl jones as the evil cult leader and powerful thousand year old Atlantean sorcerer Thulsa Doom who is able to change his form at will into that of a monstrous snake creature.

The Lost World- t.v show 1999.

Loosely based on the Doyle book, several episodes of this show feature reptilian humanoids

Tarzan the Epic Adventures- t.v series 1996
two episodes Kukulcan and The Crimson jewell feature reptile humanoids.

At the Earths' core -1976

Scientists in a drilling machine discover and underground world where prehistoric people are enslaved to race of Pterandon - type creatures who can control and manipulate them telepathically.

In the original BATTLESTAR GALACTICA(1978), it is stated that the Cylon cyborg race was created by a race of reptilians.

Strangely in the newer Re-booted version on Sky one, the origin of the Cylons is that they were created by mankind as servants

I don't believe the reptilian theory but I was watching Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas last night and a scene caught my attention. While tripping on mescaline (or LSD, can't remember which) Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro visit a bar/lounge. Johnny Depp looks around and suddenly all the people have become reptiles (iguanas and some dinosaur looking things). Some are having sex and some are covered in blood, the scene reminded me of some kind of occult sex ritual or something. He's horrified and say's something like "It won't be long now, they're going to tear us to pieces."

Just thought that might interest people. It certainly caught my attention.

From Dusk Till Dawn - only the character played by Salma Hayek shifts into a reptilian, but it's really freaky.

Also in the movie 'From Hell', Jack the Ripper's eyes turn completely black at one point, which apparently suggests a reptilian/ET shapeshifter.

"Recess: School's Out!" - a kid's cartoon movie based on the cartoon series "Recess". My boyfriend was a big fan of the series as a kid and just for fun he put the movie (which apparently came out in theatres) in our DVD player last night.

One scene was particularly interesting/possibly relevant to the discussion.

So in the movie, it's summer vacation and the main character ("TJ", I think) notices some strange stuff going on around the empty buildings. Official-looking government agents conducting weird experiments involving anti-gravity devises, lasers, etc. He gets his friends together and they observe several mean-looking men in suits get out of their vehicles and enter the school.

Kid 1: "Maybe their aliens!"
Kid 2: "They look like people to me!"
Kid 1: "Well, maybe they're in disguise!"
Kid 2: "Disguise?"
Kid 1: "Yeah, think about it, if you were an alien, you wouldn't just be walking around in your lizard skin would you?"

Just thought it was interesting that a) they mention the possibility of government officials being aliens, b), that the aliens would be able to "disguise" as human, and c), that the aliens would be reptilian in nature ("lizard" skin, of all things)

Anyone knows Special Unit 2? It was a shortlived but noteworthy series, in my humble opinion... not the best picture, but they had a lot of bizarre creatures, called "Links" for missing links of evolution...

How about Dorothy the Dinosaurs,showcased on The Wiggles...an entertainment ensemble for children...I could name about 50 kids shows
where kids are taught to welcome reptiles,dragons and crocodiles as friends.

same here, especially recently as ive been checking out loads of old cartoons i used to watch and tons of them had similiar storylines to that of the annunaki/atlanteans etc and have reptilian being in them..... soooooo , shall we post some up? it would be good to hear of other shows etc that i cant remember or dont know.
ive taken it as a wee past-time recently to go searching through films and shows etc pretty fun and you'd be surprised actually how many films/shows/cartoons etc have this reaccuring theme.

Yes, quite an underated movie in my view. King knows the score, that's for certain. Amazing that this film came out in '92, long before this stuff entered more 'mainstream' esoteric awareness.

I couldn't see a thread here about movies that portray reptilian figures in some way, so I created a thread myself.
In the 1980 movie "Altered States", some indians sacrifice a reptilian in a ritual (if I remember correctly from the movie).
And in "Jacob's Ladder", a female turn out in the shape of a lizard viewed from behind the back at a dance party.

If you listen to the directors commentary to Conan the Barbarian you will really gain insight. Oliver Stone (who co-wrote the screenplay) really wanted to put lots more illuminati references and genetic engineered creatures in there. Really far out stuff for that time. But crucially he did hint that he wanted to show that pre-history was more advanced than we give it credit for.
While he didn't get all his own way, Thulce Doom was explained as the last of an advanced race (something that re-occurs in Robert E. Howards Books) who could shape shift.
If you recall the orgy scene inside the mountain, there are actually more subtle references to reptillian lore.
The big pot that the henchmen are stirring and carrying about is actually a potion-broth / exilir for made from human bodies (you can see them strung up in a few quick scenes).
Thulces closest followers would get some to give them extended life and power (his guards etc)
When conan throws it down the stairs you can see body parts inside it. This was in the screenplay to reinforce the fact.
The film doesn't go into these minutae but the screenplay really fleshes out the whole back-story and its very interesting.
Now it's also interesting that this was written in the 1970s and the whole captives in underground reptillian bases didn't come about till the late 1980s I think.
Oliver Stone really has his ear close the ground I think. :)

Thulsa Doom actually is a character from another set of stories written Conan creator Robert E. Howard called Kull , featuring a character who is sort of like an early prototype for Conan.

Doom's attributes were changed for the movie script, as in the stories he was just another mundane evil sorcerer. The inspiration for the movies' Doom appears to be the 'serpent men' characters from the Kull story THE SHADOW KINGDOM,in which an ancient race of shape-shifting reptile men attempt to infiltrate and destroy Kull's kingdom of Valusia.

It's really remarkable considering that the story was written in 1928,and was published in the pulp magazind Weird Tales.

Howard, like Stone, really knew the score.

The movie Conan the Barbarian was released in 1982, but the date stamp on the film says 1981, so it is safe to assume that the script for the movie had existed for some years before that.:)

In the tv series 'The Unit' season 3 I think, not a big fan but someone gave me a hard drive with movies and tv shows on and so I was watching it. There is one episode where the unit is blacklisted, shut down by shadowy figures behind the scenes in the government. One of the soldier from the unit is tortured by these guys on a prison ship. They give him a pill and one of the things he sees is one of the guys turning into a reptilian, I started watching closely then.

I guess they scared me (and still do!) because of the lighting and graininess of the pictures. To me they look somehow unreal, not fitting with the rest, reality, I don't know how to put it.

Also worth mentioning is the Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai which featured a theme similar to They Live where evil aliens' human disguises are thwarted by special glasses.

that's weird cos one of my friends took ketamine once and said I turned into Rod Stewart!! I know a guy who took so much acid that he started seeing people as reptiles and now it's almost a permanent thing. Seems that sunstances such as acid and K take one into the lower fourth dimension...

Not seen the film actually.

Do know something of it though. Directed by Sidney Pink and made in Denmark (not somewhere you usually assosiate with monster movies.)

It's about a giant prehistoric reptile that trashes Copenhagen after being grown from tissue samples discovered in a core sample found by a north sea oil drilling platform (sort of pre-dates Jurrasic Park).

It was made in the early sixties, at about the same time that movies like Gorgo, The Beast from 20 000 Fathoms and the Godzilla series were popular.(films this one closely resembles)

Interestingly Reptilicus spawned a spin-off comic book published by Gold Key comics, drawn by Steve Ditko(spider-man):)

"Alone". Stites was a biologist who experimented with reptiles. He discovered how to develop a new species of reptile, but somehow becomes it, and traps Doggett and Harrison underground. Stites, in his reptile form, uses venom to blind his victims and then waits for the digestive enzymes within the venom to kill them. Stites is taken underground by Mulder at the end of the episode, and is shot by Doggett.
