Well it is, isn't it. If you have a few friends round for the evening, or go out for a drink with them, it always ends up the same way.

Everyone starts off all nice and polite and PC. Then after a while, normally after a few drinks the hair gets let down, the small talk goes out the window and the jokes start flying.

After a while, in people's relaxed state, someone inadvertantly let's one rip. The initial reaction is a stunned silence, shortly followed by uncontrollable laughter.

It's called human nature, we are only 'civilized' on the surface, but when we chill out and act naturally we revert to reality, ie, life down here is just a game and laughing at it is the best way to win.

I remember being a little kid at junior school, someone would trump in class & we'd all snigger. The teacher would put on a disapproving expression and say something like 'Oh, laughing at our bodily functions are we? Grow up'' in a disparaging manner.

I'm now in my forties and still laugh at farts, and so almost certainly did my old teacher. What a hypocrite lol

Farts can be amusing at times although when it comes to the husbands farts then they are just plain embarrassing especially when shopping in public and he chooses me to stand besides when letting one rip…I so hate being left with someone else smell and having to explain that it wasn’t me…Honestly!…:o

Well, in Japan they have a fart contest for women.

When plied with mysterious "bulbs" shy Japanese girls are transformed into "farting iron women" who will happily rattle the windows of their small Tokyo apartments on video as they compete for the coveted title of "Fart Queen."

And they sell videos about it!
