MPs attack ‘Luddite’ Charles for claiming GM food could create the world’s worst environmental catastrophe

MPs have branded Prince Charles a ‘Luddite’ after he launched a scathing attack on GM crops.

The Prince of Wales warned that genetically modified food risked causing the world’s worst environmental catastrophe.

In a passionate intervention, he accused accused multinational corporations of conducting an experiment with nature and humanity which had gone ’seriously wrong’.

But Labour MP Des Turner, who sits on the Commons all-party science committee, said: ‘Prince Charles has got a way of getting things absolutely wrong. It’s an entirely Luddite attitude to simply reject them out of hand.’

Mr Turner, a former biochemist, added: ‘The whole point about GM crops is that they are not intrinsically evil and there are circumstances where they can be of great benefit.

‘Some developing countries where for instance there is a problem with drought or salinity, if you can develop salt- or drought-resistant crops there are great benefits.’

Former biology lecturer Ian Gibson, Labour MP for Norwich North, said: ‘Prince Charles should stick to his royal role rather than spout off about something which he has clearly got wrong.

‘Scientists and others who have seriously looked at the problem have found no solid evidence that GM crops affect people’s health.

‘Where I agree with him is about big corporations thinking they can walk through people with their products.’

Good on him, perhaps all those years living with Diana allowed him to feel love

I agree with Prince Charles. GM is going to be the disaster he says it will be.

And who said the Royals can't have a voice? I am not keen on the Royals for the reasons that they are running our country along with the Rothschild scum and they are not even from anywhere in the UK etc... But they still have a right to bloody speak. The news said the Queen is not allowed to voice her political opinion! WTF!

This is something we should support Charlie boy on regardless of any other feelings.

Research AGENDA 21 !! and CODEX ALIMENTARIUS !!

What everyone should be aware of is that Prince Charles signed and executed something called the agenda 21 protocols with farther bush on behalf of the united states on Prince Charles yacht near the earth sumit conference in 1992 in Rio .
This agenda 21 is all about getting rid of 90% of us and total control of the food by genetic manipulation and total control of everyone else thats left and to make us slaves  ,they must be checking out public opinion !.i was watching the news and the farmers over here in the uk were saying "Prince Charles doesn't know what hes talking about and that he has'nt researched any decent facts and should keep his opinions to himself " But as we see with agenda 21 he knows exactly whats going on by the looks of things ;) .I hope the farmers wake up before its too late as when the seeds are all turned into the terminator seed (i think thats what they are called ) and don't produce anymore seeds or pollinate (or something along them lines :p ) . They will be forced to buy the seed from the nwo controlled company's.
its just another part of the big agenda that they keep rolling out to us :(

the agenda 21 and codex alimentarius is at 5:40 mins on the video

I support Chuck on his GM stance, but oppose him on his child-eating platform.

Yeah I read this story this morning - so much for those who were only recently saying he's involved in GM food and is aware of the effects it has on people.

I guess it could be a double bluff, but regardless of whether he is a lizard and eats babies, I think this is a fairly sensible thing for him to say. My opinion has gone up slightly.
