Lots of evil things have been done in the name of science, sadly lots of evil things were done in the name of religion too up until that point and science just took over. Paving the way for proof and observations instead of faithful guess work.

Organised religion = science? Not in terms of their content, but what they 'accomplish'.

However, arn't both just a big joke anyway? Most of what we're led to believe from either camp is almost untrue, they manipulate the sources of info and they change history to what suits them. Science is about control just as the same can be said about religion, but control of much more, control of matter, atoms, chemicals. Control of nature.

Science was created so that mankind could be in control of not just other man, but everything. The power of creation and destruction. Science brings godlike ability to those who shouldnt really deserve it.

Most of what we've done in science as been born of negative reasons, weapons, virii. etc Only a small portion of what we've developed in science is beneficial and useful to mankind and only after its malevolent functions were explored first. You know the old saying, every bit of technology we have had military development and usage first.

Therefore I propose science should be abolished and replaced with more appropriate terms/ or sub divisions.

Good/creation in one group

Neutral/manipulation in the second

Bad/destruction in the third

Maybe it wont do much on the outset. But if the inventor of the atom bomb, knew that his 'creation' would lead to destruction, instead of the catchall 'in the name of science' he might think about what he was doing.

Aw well, I'm probably ranting. But anything is better than what we have.

I'm prepared to throw science away and start over.

Any throughts?

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't throw science away any more than I would religion - baby/bathwater you know? Both science and religion are rightful heirs to a unified holisitc truth of reality and nature. Opposing them only sows seeds of sorrow for Man.

And you're right, spectacularly right actually. The Hidden Powers of this world do want to rule all of creation on every level through science and the domination of all Nature, the fulfilment of their Grand Design/Great Work.

I can't see past choices I don't understand, but certain things seem inevitable at this point should we continue on the path we're on. The Machine looms large, and it will devour us without pity or remorse.

I'll post more thoughts about your OP when they come to me. :)

Its as if scientists aren't quite 'all there'. It's a 'my way' or the highway type of mindset. Perhaps there's an ego problem with these people, deliberately magnified for agenda purposes. They tout Logic and rationale, but IMO they demonstrate narrow mindedness. They have their uses, but a better balanced management should oversee what these individuals get up to. Over the years they have consistently demonstrated a total lack of common sense, to the detriment of all. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
